2026 West Stanly Youth Football

The West Stanly Youth Football & Cheer Organization is excited about our upcoming season, and we have been working diligently to ensure we are fully prepared to support our players and cheerleaders.

This season, the U-Wharrie League has introduced modifications to the program that we believe will be fundamentally beneficial. We are excited about these changes and feel confident they will create a better experience for all participants across the league.


2026 Team & Age Structure:

  • 7-on-7 Teams (Kindergarten):Players and cheerleaders in Kindergarten
  • Cannot turn 6 years old before January 1, 2026
  • 11-on-11 Teams (1st & 2nd Grade):Players and cheerleaders in 1st and 2nd Grade
  • Cannot turn 9 years old before January 1, 2026
  • D1 Teams (3rd & 4th Grade):Players and cheerleaders in 3rd and 4th Grade
  • Cannot turn 10 years old before January 1, 2026
  • D2 Teams (5th & 6th Grade):Players and cheerleaders in 5th and 6th Grade
  • Cannot turn 12 years old before January 1, 2026


Additional League Update:

  • Participants cannot be in 7th grade, regardless of age
  • This change ensures better team alignment and helps eliminate challenges experienced in previous seasons

2026 GIRLS Flag Football: 7-on-7

The West Stanly Youth Football & Cheer Organization is proud to introduce our new 7-on-7 Girls Flag Football Team for the 2026 season! This exciting addition is designed specifically for girls ages 7–8, providing a fun, fast-paced, and empowering introduction to the game of football.

Our goal is to create an environment where young athletes can build confidence, learn the fundamentals of the game, and develop teamwork and leadership skills—all while having fun. The 7-on-7 format allows players to stay actively involved, learn key positions, and grow their understanding of the game in a supportive and encouraging setting.

We are thrilled to expand opportunities for girls in our community and look forward to watching these young athletes compete, grow, and represent West Stanly with pride. This is just the beginning of something special!
