2024 Season Special Recognition

Selecting who will throw the first pitch of the Kimball Little League season is a cherished tradition, one that isn't decided by a single person. Instead, our entire board casts their votes. This year, nearly every board member voted for one of our biggest supporters. Only our President abstained, feeling it odd to vote and understandable on why. So, it is with immense appreciation that the 2024 Kimball Little League Board recognizes Jeff Ward and Ward Construction!

As we discussed this year's choice, it became increasingly clear how significant Jeff's contributions have been. It's almost surprising that he hasn't been honored sooner. With the grand opening of our new Clubhouse, it's only fitting that 2024 is Jeff's year.

Jeff has been a part of KTLL since his oldest son started T-Ball thirteen years ago. His involvement deepened when his wife joined the board in 2012. Behind the scenes, Jeff has been a pivotal force, focusing on what he does best—building and maintaining our facilities. While he steers clear of league politics and paperwork, his hands-on work has been crucial. From constructing dugouts to installing essential drainage systems, Jeff's efforts are foundational to our league's success.

His work with Ward Construction, alongside Hammar’s Contracting, has culminated in the completion of our Clubhouse, a monumental project that showcases his dedication and skill. But his contributions extend far beyond construction. Jeff has been our unsung hero, handling everything from facility repairs to equipment management, often without seeking any recognition.

As we celebrate today's events and the opening of our Clubhouse, we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Jeff. His selfless nature and commitment have not only improved our facilities but have also ensured that Kimball Little League is a better place for our children.

To Jeff Ward and Ward Construction, thank you. Your generosity, dedication, and spirit of volunteerism have profoundly impacted our community. Your actions speak volumes about your character and your commitment to our youth.

Special Recognition 50 Years and going strong!

Hammar's Welding, now known as Hammar's Contracting, has been a proud sponsor of the Kimball Township Little League for many years, even before their own children were old enough to play in the league. Now, five of their great-grandchildren are playing ball, making that four generations of Hammars actively involved in KTLL. For decades, they have given generously of their time and resources.

In 2002, Tim Hammar, son of Bob Hammar, and Terry Morris took over the business, expanding to include Emergency Truck and Tire Repair, Hammar's Recycling, and J&J Trailer. Generously, they have carried on the tradition of their predecessors. Hammar’s Contracting has also played an integral role in supporting Kimball Township Little League. Their generous contributions have assisted in creating a T-ball Field, painting and repairing dugouts, installing a new parking lot, and erecting a new building that will house concessions, maintenance, equipment, and safety. Tim and Kerrie, who grew up playing in the league, now volunteer their time coaching and helping with various projects, as do their son-in-law and daughter, Adrien and Jessica Harris, who are also coaches. As silent partners of the company, the Morris family joined the Hammar's in their efforts to support the league. Terry and Tammy Morris will throw the first pitch at this year's opening game.

Hammar's Contracting has been instrumental in the success of the Kimball Township Little League and their generous contributions have helped to enhance the league's facilities and programs. Thanks to their generosity generations of Kimball Township youth have benefitted from their involvement in KTLL, as will generations to come. Thank you, Hammar’s Contracting, for your dedication to enriching the lives of the youth in our community. We are forever grateful.
