Baseball In House Rules

Majors Division 

Senior Minor Division

  • Follows Little League All Star Tournament Rules
  • 7 run cap per inning until final inning
  • No more than 3 coaches in the dugout per team
  • Coaches must be in the dugout while their team is in the field.

Minors Divisions

  • Everyone bats
  • No drop 3rd strike
  • No infield fly rule
  • Only base that can be stolen is 3rd base
  • Can advance one base on error, cannot compound (in example runner advances to next base on error,  if throw trying get the runner out leads to another error the runner cannot advance another base). 
  • 5 run cap per inning until final inning.
  • Cannot catch more than 3 inning and then pitch in the same game.
  • Cannot catch after throwing 40 pitches.
  • No more than 3 coaches in the dugout per team
  • Coaches must be in the dugout while their team is in the field.

Upper Farms Division

  • 1st inning all players bat.
  • Score will be kept from 1st inning.
  • 1st 3 inning coach pitch, last 3 innings kids pitch.
  • A player cannot catch after pitching in same game.
  • A player cannot catch more than one inning and then pitch in the same game.
  • Ball in play past the infield, runner can run until the ball is attempted to be thrown in. At that time it will be umpires decision what base the runner is awarded.
  • Players cannot advance a base on an overthrow/error
  • If a pitcher hits two batters in an inning , or has any combination of 3 walks or hit by pitch in an inning, the coach comes in to pitch.
  • Pitchers can pitch consecutive innings as long as they are within little league pitch limits.
  • No more than 3 coaches in the dugout per team
  • Coaches must be in the dugout while their team is in the field.


Pitch Counts & Days Rest 

In accordance with Little League rules, maximum pitches permitted are as follows:

  • Age 7 & 8 - 50 pitches per game
  • Age 9 & 10 - 75 pitches per game
  • Age 11 & 12 - 85 pitches per game
  • Age 13 - 95 pitches per game

In accordance with Little League rules, days of rest are as follows:

  • 1-20 pitches in a day, zero (0) days of rest required
  • 21-35 pitches in a day, one (1) day of rest required
  • 36-50 pitches in a day, two (2) days of rest required
  • 51-65 pitches in a day, three (3) days of rest required
  • 66 or more pitches in a day, four (4) days of rest required

EXCEPTION: If a pitcher reaches the pitch limit imposed above for his/her league age while facing a batter, the pitcher may continue to pitch until any one of the following conditions occurs: (1) that batter reaches base; (2) that batter is retired; (3) the third out is made to complete the half inning or the game; or (4) the pitcher is removed from the mound prior to the batter completing his/her at bat.

Bat Restrictions

The bat must be a baseball bat which meets the USA Baseball Bat standard (USABat) as adopted by Little League. It shall be a smooth, rounded stick, and made of wood or of material and color tested and proved acceptable to the USA Baseball Bat standard (USABat).

USA Baseball Bat Logo

Non-wood and laminated bats used in the Little League (Majors) and below, Intermediate (50-70) Division, and Junior League divisions, shall bear the USA Baseball logo signifying that the bat meets the USABat – USA Baseball’s Youth Bat Performance Standard. All BPF – 1.15 bats are prohibited. The bat diameter shall not exceed 2⅝ inches for these divisions of play.  Additional information is available at LittleLeague.org/batinfo.
