Dear Potential Sponsor,
The Jake Hardison Memorial Challenger Jamboree (JHMCJ) committee is holding its 8th Annual Tricky Tray Basket Raffle to raise funds for the 2025 Jamboree on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Last year individuals donated over 150 baskets and the event raised over $4,000. Since 2020 we have held the event at the Azalea Little League complex with baskets inside and people outside coming through in small groups. This year we are back to a fully indoor event with people and baskets in the same location at Tabernacle Church of Norfolk. We will have afternoon tea and light refreshments at the event for attendees.
New this year we are offering sponsorship opportunities. By donating a regular basket (valued at $5 or higher), your name will be listed as a Friend of the Jamboree on save the date cards at the event. If you donate a special prize for the special raffle, you will be listed as a Basket Raffle sponsor and your name and/or logo will be on the save the date cards and in the 2025 Jamboree Registration packet which is sent to all local Little League and all Virginia Little League Districts and some in surrounding states. Donations must be received by 10/31/24 to be on the Save the Date card.
Baskets may contain any number of items. Past baskets have included toys, games, car wash sets, pet items, clothing, makeup, hair accessories, cleaning supplies, art supplies, wine baskets, gift certificates for restaurants, salons, etc. We have a wide variety of people who attend the event and try to have something for everyone. Past special prizes have included White Claw Coolers, Golf Clubs, Yeti Coolers, Bikes, Christmas Tree and decorations, bedroom décor, Thanksgiving baskets and more.
The funds raised at this event are used to off-set the travel cost for teams that attend, a medal for each player, lunch on Saturday, a free picnic for the players attending the 2025 Jake Hardison Memorial Challenger Jamboree.
As you may be aware Challenger Little League has provided Little Leaguers with intellectual and physical disabilities the ability to play baseball for over 30 years. The JHMCJ is 100% volunteer-operated and is held in Norfolk, VA on Mother’s Day weekend. It is designed to give players in the Challenger and Senior Challenger Divisions an opportunity to experience the excitement of a tournament against teams from multiple states.
JHMCJ receive no Government funding and 100% of the proceeds from this event are used for the benefit of the Challenger players and coaches taking part in Jamboree Weekend.
If you would like to donate to this event or if you would like more information, please contact me at (757) 575-8233 or e-mail [email protected].
Sincerely,
Laura J. Lumagui
