The Road To The National Championships
For both cheerleading and football squads, the path to the National Championship is demanding yet rewarding. Spirit squads perform their best 2-minute and 30-second routines, featuring music and cheering, at the league’s championship level. The top squads advance to regional competitions, with small, medium, and large divisions competing across Levels 1-4. At regionals, squads once again showcase their routine, aiming for first or second place to earn an invitation to the Pop Warner National Championship, where they compete for the ultimate title on behalf of their local association.
Similarly, the football season begins on August 1st with practices held from 6-8 PM, Monday through Friday, until school starts. Afterward, practices move to three times per week. Games are played on Sundays starting August 27th, with an 8 to 9 game season. Qualifying football teams will proceed to the Jersey Shore playoffs, with winners advancing to regional playoffs. Regional champions will move on to the National Tournament in Florida.
Pop Warner athletes are unique in their dedication to both sports and academics. While they strive for success on the field and in competitions, they must also maintain satisfactory grades to reach the pinnacle of being named a Pop Warner National Champion. We salute the efforts and accomplishments of all our participants!
