Established over 20 years ago, Waukegan Association for Youth Soccer (W.A.Y.S.) is dedicated to nurturing young talent, fostering sportsmanship, and promoting a lifelong love for soccer. We are a not-for-profit organization managed by dedicated volunteers who provide a positive and structured outlet for Lake County's youth. Over the years, W.A.Y.S. has grown to be one of the largest soccer organizations in the northern Lake County area with well over 800 registered players ages 5-17 years old. 

FOUNDERS:

Rogelio Fajardo, Jesus Martinez and Carlos Marquez, shared a passion for soccer and a desire to make a positive impact in their community. They turned that passion for soccer into a youth soccer league to provide children in their community with opportunities for physical activity, teamwork, and personal development. Through the years, their hard work and dedication paid off as the league gained momentum, attracting enthusiastic young players and supportive parents. They emphasized inclusivity and sportsmanship, fostering an environment were children of all skill levels could learn and grow. Together, they had not only founded a soccer league but also cultivated a thriving community dedicated to values of teamwork, perseverance, and joy in the beautiful game
