IN ORDER FOR THE ALL-STAR PROGRAM TO BE A SUCCESS, WE NEED THE SUPPORT OF PEER VOLUNTEERS!
What Is the All-Stars Program?
All-Stars is an RBSA program designed for children with special needs and is open to residents of Ridgewood and surrounding towns. Players (ages 5 and up) are matched with one or more peer volunteers (ages 12 and up) to assist them through baseball/softball stations (throwing, hitting off a tee, etc.). RBSA board members and coaches are also on hand to direct the players and volunteers through the stations. It’s a great way to enjoy the Spring weather, make new friends and connect with old friends too! Our players, volunteers and coaches all have a great time!
What Will I Have to Do?
You’ll be matched with players to help assist them through some fun baseball/softball stations (batting, throwing, base-running, etc.). A Lead Volunteer will be assigned to each station to demonstrate to volunteers how the stations work, and RBSA Board members and coaches will be on-hand to assist. The success of this program depends on the generous spirit of our peer volunteers!! We encourage volunteers to commit to all four dates, if possible, because our participants really look forward to seeing their volunteer each week. See below for directions on how to register as a volunteer.
