Q: When does registration open?
Registration for the Spring season is expected to open in late October - January 18. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram or check your email for announcements!
Q: What ages can participate in UCALL?
UCALL is open to boys and girls ages 4–17. Your league age is based on how old your child will be by August 31.
- Players ages 4–7 (League Age) may register with any Little League, regardless of where they live or go to school. This means families can choose UCALL even if they live outside our traditional boundaries. These players are also eligible for all league activities, including tournaments, as long as they remain continuously registered with UCALL.
- Players ages 8 and older must either live within UCALL’s boundaries or attend a school located within our boundary area to be eligible. Proof of residency or school attendance will be required during registration.
We welcome players of all skill levels—from first-time tee-ballers to experienced juniors. To check your eligibility, visit the Little League League Finder
Q. What division or level will my child be playing?
Divisions are based on Little League age, which may differ slightly from your child’s actual age. Below shows both the highest division or level a player may be eligible for as well as the lowest division allowed for his or her age group.
- Majors: 12, 11, 10, 9*
- Minors: 11, 10, 9, 8, 7*

Q: What does registration include?
Your registration fee helps cover many of the essential elements that make our season possible, including:
- A team jersey and hat
- Use of fields and facilities
- Insurance coverage for all players
- Umpire and game-day support (for applicable divisions)
- Equipment and league maintenance
Q: What is the popcorn fundraiser deposit?
The popcorn deposit is a refundable payment collected at the start of the season to encourage participation in UCALL’s annual popcorn fundraiser.
Q: Why does UCALL ask for a popcorn deposit?
Fundraisers like popcorn sales help keep registration fees affordable for all families and support program costs such as uniforms, equipment, field rentals and facility upkeep. The deposit helps ensure every family contributes to this shared effort either by selling popcorn or by donating the equivalent amount.
Q: How do I get my deposit back?
Once your family meets the minimum fundraising goal, your deposit is returned to the credit card used to pay for registration. It’s our way of keeping things fair and flexible for everyone.
Q: What is the League Volunteer Deposit?
The League Volunteer Deposit is a refundable payment collected at registration to encourage all families to take part in UCALL’s community volunteering program.
Q: Why does UCALL require volunteer hours?
UCALL depends on parent and family volunteers to keep our programs running smoothly — everything from coaching and concessions to field setup and special events. The deposit is a simple way to ensure that every family contributes time or support, helping keep our community strong and our programs affordable.
Q: How do I get my deposit back?
When your family completes the required volunteer hours for the season, the deposit is refunded or credited back. If you prefer not to volunteer, the deposit helps offset the cost of hiring additional help.
Q: What equipment does my child need?
Players should have a glove, baseball pants, cleats and a helmet. Bats are often shared or can be borrowed. Check out the Gear Guide to learn more about to select the right equipment for your players.
Catcher's gear and baseballs are provided by the league. Coaches will communicate specific equipment needs by division.

Rainouts or field conditions may cancel or delay games. Coaches and league officials will notify families via email, text, or our website as soon as decisions are made.
Q. Which divisions have tryouts and do we have to attend?
All players league ages 8-12 are eligible and must participate in at least one of the two tryouts. Tryouts are held by age group and the schedule will be posted on the website. To be eligible to be drafted to the Minor or Major division, tryouts are mandatory. Players returning to the Majors are considered “property players” and do not need to attend tryouts; they will return to their team from last season.
Player tryouts are held on one Saturday and one Sunday before the start of the season, typically in January. (Check the website for details or the handout received at registration.) To be eligible for the draft, players must attend one of the two sessions. They may attend both if desired.
Based on the player’s performance during the tryouts, he or she may be drafted by a manager to play at the higher level of their eligibility. Participation at the tryouts does not guarantee the player will be drafted to the higher division, but a player must participate in his or her age-level tryouts to be eligible to play at the higher level. Players who do not attend tryouts will likely be placed in their lowest division of eligibility.
Occasionally, in the interest of a player’s safety or development, parents may prefer that the player not play at his or her highest level of eligibility. Whenever a candidate is eligible for two divisions, s/he may elect to stay in the lower division by submitting a request in writing either on the registration form or to the Player Agent prior to the draft or team assignments.
If the request is approved and a player elects to play in the Minor Division rather than being part of the pool eligible for the Major division draft or to play in the Farm Division rather than being part of the pool eligible for the Minor division draft, s/he is not eligible to be called up later to fill a vacancy. Contact [email protected].
All players attending tryouts are assessed by the player agents and board members who do not manage a team. A player for whom there are safety concerns may be held in a lower level by the player agent through this assessment.
Q: How can I become a coach or volunteer?
We’re always looking for coaches, team parents, and volunteers! Sign up during registration or email us. All volunteers must pass a background check and attend league training.
If you have additional questions, feel free to contact [email protected].
