Drafts
Draft to be held on 2/2 and 2/3
Keepers:
- Coaches may select up to five keepers:
- Keepers include the coach’s own children or players they coached last season.
- Keepers do not try out and are automatically assigned during the draft.
Hat Picks:
- Players who do not attend tryouts are placed into a hat pick pool.
- Their names are drawn randomly at the end of the draft to balance rosters.
Draft Order:
- After tryouts, coaches draw numbers to determine draft order.
- Draft uses a snake format:
- Round 1: Coach 1 picks first, Coach 2 second, etc.
- Round 2: Order reverses (last coach picks first).
Draft Process:
- A board member runs the draft, announcing players in tryout ranking order.
- Coaches draft:
- Keepers first (counted as early picks).
- Remaining players round by round.
- Hat picks last, ensuring teams reach 10-12 players.
Goals
- Ensure fairness and balance across all teams.
- Allow continuity with keepers while giving all players a chance to be placed.
