How old does my child need to be to play baseball?

Your child must be 4 years old by August 2025 to qualify for the 2025 spring season.

Where are the fields located?

Practices and games are held at 3622 Contempo Drive, Sacramento, CA 95826.

Can my child play if we live outside of the boundaries?

Yes! If your child attends school within our league boundaries, they are eligible to play. You will need to complete a school verification form and signed by your school administrator. Please click on the forms tab to download a copy of the school verification form.

Regulation II Update:

Starting with the 2025 season, children at the youngest level of the Little League® Baseball and Softball program (League Age 4-7) throughout the United States will have the ability to register for any Little League program they choose, without respect to any geography- or school-related eligibility requirements. Those players who register under this option will also be fully eligible to participate in all aspects of league play, including International Tournament play, for the duration of their Little League careers provided they have continuous and unbroken participation from the time they are League Age seven within the specific league where initially registered and provided all other participation eligibility requirements have been met.

As part of this strategic change, which is detailed in Little League’s Regulation II as found in the Little League Rulebook App, players League Age 8-16 as of the 2025 season (born on or before September 1, 2017, for Baseball or January 1, 2017, for Softball) will continue to utilize the current boundary requirement based on residency or school enrollment.

Opportunities and waivers will continue to be available as an option for players should they be interested in switching leagues that are outside of these requirements, based on approval and potential stipulations from the Little League International Charter Committee.

In an effort to assist these families at these youngest divisions to choose the best league for their situation, as well as to further support the administrative needs of our local league volunteers, Little League International will also be launching a Central Registration Platform, which will be mandatory for leagues to use starting with the 2025 season, at PlayLittleLeague.org.

What equipment does my child need?

The league provides a shirt and hat to individual players. You will need to purchase a baseball glove, helmet, baseball bat, pants, socks and belt. The colors will be determined by your team/coach and is recommended to purchase after your coach lets you know your team colors.

Bats must have USA Baseball sticker on them to be approved.  For approved bat information please visit usabaseball.com/bats

What is the time commitment?

It varies by division level. T-ball/farm is typically 4-6 hours a week. Minors and up is typically 6-10 hours a week.

When will I find out who my child’s coach is?

Teams are announced at our Roster Release event. See the calendar for more information.

When do practices/games start?

Practices start mid-February. Games will follow about a month after.

How often are practices/games?

It varies by division level. T-ball/Farm is typically 1-2 weeknight practices, 1 weeknight game, and 1 Saturday game. Minors and up is typically 2-3 practices, 1 weeknight game and 1 Saturday game.

Rosemont Little League programs are always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to support and coordinate local Little League events and activities. Volunteers should have a keen interest in the safety, well-being, and overall development of children.

Anyone can apply to become a volunteer. Across the country, volunteers are parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, retirees, community leaders, former Little Leaguers, friends, neighbors, and more. Any community member who wishes to become a volunteer may apply.

All parents of children involved in Little League Baseball are strongly encouraged to volunteer. Parents who volunteer have the opportunity to spend quality time with their child in a safe, fun-filled environment. Often, the social lives of parents and their child parallel each other. Volunteering allows your life and your child’s life to intersect on common ground, with shared interests and goals, where both can meet new friends.

No experience is required to become a volunteer. Most of the volunteer opportunities require little or no training.  Rosemont Little League will provide any necessary training (as well as support and encouragement).  The best volunteers are those who are able to bring added enjoyment to the game simply be being themselves.
If you are interested in Volunteering or have any questions, please contact Reana Gunter [email protected].

Volunteer Details:

Families are required to fulfill 10 hours of volunteer work in order to receive a refund of their $150 deposit.

Individuals aged 15 and older are eligible to complete these volunteer hours.

Families should document their hours on the designated yellow volunteer card, which must be signed at the time of service by a board member.

After completing the hours, please submit the card promptly to the Volunteer coordinator, Reana Gunter, or place it in the volunteer box located in the snack bar for processing of refunds.

Refunds will be issued in the same form as the original payment and may take 7 to 14 days to process.

Coaches are exempt from the 10-hour requirement, and their deposits will be refunded midway through the season.

Volunteer Opportunities:

- Head Coach
- Assistant Coach

- Team Parent:

A team parent's primary role is to help make the team experience fun and organized by handling administrative tasks so coaches can focus on the players. Some responsibilities of a team parent include:

 - Relay information from the coach and league to the team families.
 - Organize volunteers for tasks like Snack Bar, Scorekeeper, Game Coordinator, etc.
 - Opening Day Raffle Basket
 - Team Banner
 - End of year party including coaches' gift.

- Scorekeeper and Pitch count:

- For the 50/70, Majors, Minors, and Farm divisions, home teams must provide a scorekeeper and a pitch counter during each game. It is important to note that in the Farm division, a pitch counter is only necessary during the latter half of the season when games are played with kid-pitch

- Game Coordinator:

- A Game Coordinator is required at each game when a junior umpire is positioned behind home plate. The role of the Game Coordinator is to provide impartial support between the umpire and the coaches or the teams participating.

- Snack Bar Volunteer:

Assistance is consistently required at the snack bar throughout the week and on weekends, providing a straightforward opportunity to recover your deposit.

A sign-up link will be available on the league's website

Volunteer during Special Events (i.e.  Opening Day, Movie Nights, Closing Day)

Field days:

Expanded Field Days will be organized prior to and throughout the season.

Additionally, consistent weekly maintenance is essential to ensure our fields and facilities remain in optimal condition.
