VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

REQUIRED VOLUNTEER HOURS

TELL is a non-profit organization that relies on our dedicated volunteers to keep our league going strong.  It takes a diverse group of individuals with various set of skills to help maximize the impact we have on our kids. As we do each year during registration, we will be asking you to inform the league of where you can commit your time. 

TELL requires a total of 6 volunteer credits per player OR 9 credits total per family, with two or more players in the league. 

Credits are based on the approximate time commitment for each of the associated responsibilities. Current volunteer positions available at tell that will help you fulfill your volunteer obligations:

• Special Events – 1 credit per hour worked
• Field or General Maintenance – 1 credit per hour worked
• Snack Shack – (2) 3-hour shifts or 1 credit per hour worked
• Umpire – 3 credits per game (Single A thru Majors)
• Board Member – 6 credits
• Team Manager – 6 credits
• Team Main Coach – 6 credits
• Team Parent – 6 credits
• Scorekeeper – 6 credits (Single A thru Majors)

**A volunteer buyout option can also be chosen in lieu of volunteer service hours. $250 per player and $400 per family with more than one player in the league**

VOLUNTEER APPLICATION & BACKGROUND CHECK

If you plan to Manage, Coach, Umpire, be a Team Parent, work the snack shack, or be in contact with players this year, you will need to complete a background check. New applicants must include a copy of their driver's license or other photo identification. Returning applicants can simply complete the application. All background checks are now administered in the registration platform on Sports Connect. We will be in touch for all Volunteers to complete the background check.
