PREPARING FOR COACH REGISTRATION

COMPLETING ABUSE AWARENESS TRAINING

MUST BE COMPLETED BY ALL VOLUNTEERS ANNUALLY.

ABUSE AWARENESS TRAINING YOU MAY HAVE DONE FOR A DIFFERENT SPORT OR ORGANIZATION DOES NOT QUALIFY.

Little League Abuse Awareness Training is SafeSport approved and Little League® preferred

Hamel Baseball uses Little League’s Abuse Awareness Training program to provide abuse prevention training for volunteers. This training is MANDATORY for all volunteers to complete before the season begins.

Instructions to complete the free Abuse Awareness Training course for New Hamel Baseball Coaches:
  ~ This training will take about 30 minutes to complete ~

1. Create a Little League Training Account or sign in at LittleLeague.org
   When creating an account, select "HAMEL LL" or type in league ID "252721" as Your Associated League.
    
2. Once logged into the Training Portal, Click on the Abuse Awareness Training course
    
3. Click Start (make sure pop-ups are allowed)
     
4. Once you've successfully completed the course, you will Exit the course and Refresh your Little League Training account. Download and Save your Certificate of Completion.
   During Volunteer Registration on the Hamel Baseball site, upload your certificate under TRAINING CERTIFICATIONS or where designated

COMPLETING CONCUSSION TRAINING

All coaches must successfully complete concussion training.

If you have NOT completed concussion training within the past (2) calendar years, please follow the instructions below to complete the HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training for Coaches course.  You are required to upload your course completion certificate below before you can proceed with your registration.

Complete the free HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training for Coaches course:
  ~ This training will take about 30 - 40 minutes to complete ~

1. Create an account or sign in at Train.org  (~5 minutes)
     Help with creating an account:
       -  Select: Community of Practice = "HEADS UP Concussion Training"
       -  Select: Employment Category = "Not a State Employee"  
       -  Select: Region = "Metro"; "Metro West"
       -  Select: City, Town or Work Unit = "Hennepin"
       -  Select: Homeland Security Discipline = "Other"
       -  Select: Employment Category = "Local Health Volunteers"
     Complete your Train.org Profile (click on your name at the top-right of the screen):
       -  Complete all sections marked with a red "!"
       -  Organization Name = "Hamel Athletic Club"
       -  Department / Division = "Hamel Baseball"
       -  Title = "Coach"
       -  Professional Role = "Volunteer"
       -  Work Settings = "Non-Profit Organization (except Healthcare)"
    
2. Return to the HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training for Coaches course
   Click on the green Pre-Assessment button
   Complete the HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Coaches Pre-Test  (~5 minutes)
    
3. Open and Complete the HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training for Coaches  (~20 minutes)
    
4. Return to the HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training for Coaches course
   Click on the green Post-Assessment button
   Complete the HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Post Assessment  (~5 minutes)
    
5. Return to the HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training for Coaches course
   Click on the blue Certificate button
   Download and Save your Certificate
   During Volunteer Registration on the Hamel Baseball site, upload your certificate under CONCUSSION CERTIFICATE or where designated
