2025 WillCo Girls Flag Football FAQs

1. When is the flag football season?

   1. May 10 - August 3. 

2. Who can participate in WillCo Girls Flag Football?  Do we have to live in Williamson County?

   1. WillCo Girls Flag Football is open to girls ages 5-17, from beginners to experienced players. You do not have to live in Williamson County to participate.

3. How much is the registration fee and what does it include?

   1. The registration fee is $175.00 per player.  It covers jerseys, flag belts, coaching equipment, field equipment, insurance, championship awards and additional operating expenses.

4. When and where do practices and games take place?

   1. Practices and games will take place at Nolensville High School.

   2. There will be 1-2 weekend practices prior to the start of games.

   3. Games will be on Saturdays.  There is a small chance there could be a Sunday game pending a major scheduling conflict or weather.  Once games begin, each team will practice the hour prior to their game only.

5. What do Evaluations and Drafts entail?

   1. All players are expected to attend Evaluations.  Evaluation times are scheduled by age group.  Players check-in, receive an evaluation number, and rotate through a series of drills. If a player is not available for evaluations, we will use notes from the prior year.  If a player did not previously play for WillCo Girls Flag Football and does not attend evaluations, they are considered a blind draft and will be assigned to a team vs selected to a team.

   2. Only Head Coaches attend the draft.  Drafts are scheduled by age group.  Head Coaches participate in a snake draft format.  Blind drafts are assigned to a team and are not eligible to be selected/drafted. Each team will have up to 10 players.

6. Can a Head Coach and Assistant Coach team up prior to the draft?

   1. No.  Head Coaches are the only confirmed team staff prior to drafts.  The head coach’s child will be on their team, however, their draft order will be determined by evaluations.

7. Can I request a coach or teammate for my child’s team?

   1. No. We do not take coach or teammate requests.  The goal of evaluations and drafts is to make teams as even as possible.

8. What considerations do you make for the heat since your season is in the Summer?

   1. We urge all players, coaches and parents to increase and maintain hydration all Summer long.  WillCo Girls Flag Football will provide one canopy tent for each team located on their sideline to use for shade.  Each team will get a 2-minute water break between quarters along with a 5-minute halftime. We have cooling towels in the concession stand that are available for anyone to borrow.  When it comes to heat index restrictions we follow the TSSAA heat policy.

   2. Speaking of the weather, we will play in the rain.  Games will only be delayed due to lightning and canceled due to prolonged lightning.

9. Refund Policy - we understand you may need to cancel your registration.  If so, please cancel ASAP in order to open a player spot by emailing [email protected]

   1. On or before 10 pm on May 7, 2025: Full Refund, less the processing fee collected by SportsConnect. The processing fee is not collected by the league and is non-refundable.

   2. Between 10 pm on May 7, 2025 and 9 am on May 10, 2025: Partial refund.  A $50 cancellation fee will be assessed.  The processing fee collected by SportsConnect is not collected by the league and is non-refundable.

   3. After 9 am on May 10: No refund given.
