AA is geared for players ages 8-9 and is more instructional in nature, bridging the gap between non-competitive and competitive levels of play. Teams generally practice once a week and play one game a week. AA is generally 'Coach Pitch' and will look like real baseball. In the beginning weeks of AA, coaches will pitch in games. Players will get more meaningful at bats, more at bats in general and fielders will get more batted balls as a result of more coach pitching. As the season progresses, player pitching will be introduced in a manner that will be beneficial to all players. Umpiring is done by a coach from each team, and umpires are encouraged to have a large strike zone to keep the game moving. All players will bat in a continuous batting order. Each half inning will end when three outs are made or when six runs have scored.
