Roscommon Youth Wrestling Club Grievance Policy
Roscommon Youth Wrestling Club (RYWC) acknowledges that not every practice or tournament will occur without issues. This grievance policy has been written to outline the RYWC approach and expectations. Please note, the RYWC President is not the arbitrator of most issues presented to the league. Instead we ask you to submit your feedback or complaint through the submission process outlined below:
Please read this policy completely to fully understand how it works. The league President does not make policy, nor do they solve policy shortcomings. This task is accomplished by the RYWC Board of Directors (Board) and/or league representatives.
As with most youth sports, RYWC works with a “24 Hour Rule.” We request, prior to filing a grievance, all parties involved wait 24 hours from the time of the event or activity in question before filing a grievance. RYWC reserves the right to disregard any grievance filed through this forum that has happened less than 24 hours after the event or activity occurred.
To face discussion utilizing patience and professionalism. If not in person, we recommend at least a phone call to express your concerns and/or objections.
If a solution or satisfaction is not reached, please complete our online
RYWC requests you consider approaching your grievance on an individual basis with the person or people involved. We recommend you consider a face grievance form which is emailed to the RYWC Executive Board.
It is recommended the complaint include all parties involved, references to dates and times, and any witnesses to the event or actions described.
RYWC Executive Board will review the grievance and determine, within five business days, whether to schedule a private meeting with all available parties and/or applicable Board Members.
While not trying to minimize any specific grievance, not every grievance warrants the attention of the full Board.
The applicable Board members will hear descriptions and arguments of both sides and render a decision and/or solution. A verbal decision will be made at the completion of the scheduled private meeting (if occurs) and a written decision to follow within five business days of the final meeting with all parties.
It is the policy of RYWC not to reprimand or discriminate against any party simply for filing a grievance through the forum described here. In addition, any party described or included in any grievance will be afforded the same policy. Any party involved or described in the grievance will not partake in the discussions, decisions or outcomes. All members of the Board described in any grievance will recuse themselves for the duration of the grievance.
It is important all parties understand when a grievance is filed, it is possible one or both parties will not be satisfied with the results of the Board's decision.
There is no appeal and the decision by the Board is final.
