Hanover Township Little League is proud to offer two summer baseball opportunities for age eligible players: the Williamsport Tournament Team and the Summer Travel Program. These programs are designed to provide competitive play beyond the regular season and are based on player ability, commitment, and team readiness.

Williamsport Tournament Team (Ages 10, 11, 12 ONLY)

This team represents Hanover Township in the official Little League-sanctioned Williamsport Tournament, the path to the Little League World Series.

  • Tournament Progression: Begins with district pool play and can advance to state, regional, national, and World Series levels.

  • Season Length: Varies based on team performance. A short run may last 2 weeks; a deep run can extend through the end of August.

  • Commitment Level: High. Practices range from 2–4 days/week and games from 2–3/week.

  • Eligibility: Determined by the Little League Board based on team competitiveness at each age level.

  • Selection Process:

    1. Players are nominated by the current coaching staff.

    2. Coaches and the All-Star Coordinator meet to rank players (coaches cannot rank their own child).

    3. Final roster approval by the Little League Board.

    4. Alternates may be selected in case of player unavailability.

  • Coaching Selection:

    1. Applications are open to all current coaches.

    2. All-Star Coordinator and the Little League Board review applicants.

    3. The Board appoints the Head Coach, who then selects their assistants.

Summer Travel Program (Ages 8-12)

If the league does not field a competitive Williamsport team at a specific age level, a Summer Travel Team will be formed to compete in a local travel league.

  • Season Structure: Approx. 10 games plus playoffs, with a practice at least once per week and 1–2 games per week.

  • Purpose: To provide a higher level of competition than the recreational season—not intended for player development.

  • Selection Process:

    • Players nominated by current coaching staff.

    • Final rosters determined by the Travel Coach, All-Star Coordinator, and Little League Board.

  • Commitment Level: Moderate to high. Players are expected to be dedicated and reliable.

  • Coaching Selection:

    • Applications are open to all current coaches.

    • All-Star Coordinator and the Little League Board review applicants.

    • The Board appoints the Head Coach, who then selects their assistants.

Developmental Opportunities

Players seeking additional experience but not selected for travel or tournament teams will have access to separate developmental programs offered by the league.

Fees

There is a fee associated with both the Williamsport and Summer Travel programs. Details will be provided closer to the season start
