Hillcrest Lakers was incorporated in the early 1960’s as a
non-profit sports organization serving boys and girls residing in the city of
Yonkers. The club offers a year-round program including soccer, basketball,
baseball & softball, flag football, golf and lacrosse. The ages of children
in Hillcrest programs range from four to eighteen. The Hillcrest Lakers
do not restrict registration to a geographical area, however, the majority of
the Club's members generally reside in the Northeast section of
Yonkers. There are currently over 750 families registered as members
of the Club. Depending on the sport, there are both recreational and
travel divisions of play. Generally, the younger divisions of each sport
play other Hillcrest teams in our "in-house" games. As the
children progress through the program, the teams become more competitive
playing against other local clubs in games and tournaments. All of
our programs are organized and supervised by volunteers, most of which are
members of the Club with children active in the various programs. Each of our
teams are generally coached by parent volunteers, with some outside
assistance in certain programs. Today
the Hillcrest Lakers Board consists of 19 members, each of which is dedicated
to offering the children of the community a heightened sense of self-esteem
through recreational and competitive sports. This is evident in their
commitment of time, talent, guidance and friendship. We
encourage you to visit our additional web pages for more detailed
