Travel teams are the advanced play program of the Hillcrest Lakers. We field teams in multiple age divisions of the Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL). Travel is a full year commitment including Fall and Spring seasons with optional Winter clinic.  Our teams compete at suitably competitive tiers of league play. Our coaches promote a positive approach to player and team development. We strive to promote respect for oneself, the team unit, our coaches and referees, and the game of soccer. Parent coaches manage the game and work with or professional coaching staff to continuously develop our players skills. All coaches are Safe Sport certified, attend US Soccer Grassroot Coaching, and Heads Up Concussion Protocol training.  

Players can begin in the u8 age groups. Our travel program requires a full year commitment for the Fall & Spring seasons.  Each player is required to try out for placement on a Travel team.

Our travel program is a member of the Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL). The WYSL Fall Season games start the weekend following Labor Day and run through the weekend prior to Thanksgiving. The Spring program generally commences the first weekend of April and ends around Fathers’ Day. WYSL does not have a winter soccer season. Fall/Spring Seasons Games are generally held on Sundays. Team practices will be twice a week. Team managers/coaches may also coordinate additional practices from time to time. Playing Time: unlike our Core Soccer program (where we aim to have equal playing time for all players), our travel program is a competitive program and we do not guarantee equal play time for all players. While there is no guarantee of equal game playing time, all players receive meaningful game playing time throughout the season. More importantly, all players participate in two practices each week during the regular Fall/Spring seasons – – which is geared toward improvement of individual skills.

You are responsible for purchasing a travel uniform for your child from www.soccer.com. More details about ordering uniform kits will be provided upon acceptance to the Travel program. Each player will need to pay for a home and away jersey (approx.. $130 total). Other equipment will be optional. ALL PLAYERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A NEW UNIFORM THIS SEASON.

Our core soccer program is built around our recreational soccer pathway. Players can begin as early as Pre‑K and Kindergarten in our Little Crushers program and then progress through Core 1&2, 3&4, 5&6, and 7&8. We also offer a U18 Coed division as part of our core program.

All divisions except the High School (U18) group receive one weekly practice run by our paid professional trainers at a local Yonkers field. Our program participates in the AYSO soccer league, which emphasizes player development, sportsmanship, and a fun, positive soccer experience for all. We strive to provide equal playing time for every athlete, regardless of skill level.

• Grades 3 and above play league games on Sundays at various fields throughout Westchester County. Parent volunteer coaches manage and run these Sunday games, ensuring a supportive and instructional environment for all players.

• Expect home games approximately every other week.

• Little Crushers meet Saturdays at 9:30 AM at Tibbetts.

• Core 1&2 games are held Saturdays between 10:30 AM and 4:30 PM, depending on the number of teams.

• Core 3&4 may become an interleague division if we have enough interest to form four or more teams. If not, the division will run fully through the AYSO program.

Our goal is simple: to help every player learn the game, grow their confidence, build friendships, and enjoy a fun, inclusive soccer season.

Early Bird Discount ends July 10. There is no early bird discount for Little Crushers or the U18 Coed Highschool program.
