New Jersey Elite Parent Code of Conduct

At NJ Elite Flag Football, our mission is to give every athlete the chance to grow in confidence, self-esteem, and teamwork while learning the game in a fun and safe environment. We believe youth sports should build character, promote healthy competition, and teach life lessons that extend beyond the field.

To ensure this experience for all families, NJ Elite has adopted a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior. By agreeing to this Parent Code of Conduct, I pledge to set a positive example for my child and all players in the league.

Parent Commitments

• Positive Support: I (and my guests) will cheer respectfully and encourage good sportsmanship at all times, showing support for players, coaches, and officials.
• Respectful Behavior: I (and my guests) will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct, including taunting, booing, profane language, negative gestures, or refusing post-game sportsmanship.
• Well-Being First: I will place my child’s emotional and physical safety ahead of my personal desire to win.
• Encouragement Over Criticism: I will never ridicule, yell at, or publicly criticize my child—or any other participant—for making a mistake or losing.
• Safe Environment: I will help ensure that my child participates in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment.
• Support for Coaches & Officials: I will respect and back the coaches and officials who dedicate their time to the league, and I will encourage my child to do the same.
• No Substances or Weapons: I will not bring or use drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, or weapons at any NJ Elite event.
• Game is for the Kids: I will remember that youth flag football exists for children—not for adult competition or ego.
• Respect for All: I will teach my child to treat teammates, opponents, officials, and fans with respect, regardless of race, gender, ability, or background.
• Contributing Positively: I will help make the season enjoyable for my child by being a supportive fan, offering assistance when needed, and reinforcing the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.

Acknowledgment & Discipline

I understand that failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to:

• Verbal warning from an official, coach, or league director
• Ejection from the facility
• Suspension from games
• Forfeiture of games
• Removal from the season without refund or credit

By registering a child in NJ Elite, parents agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and help create a positive, respectful league environment.
