Background Check for Volunteers

1. Volunteer Application: All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application Form and submit a government-issued photo ID.
2. Background Check: A national criminal background check is conducted, including a review of the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s Centralized Disciplinary Database and Little League Ineligible list.
3. Sex Offender Registry Check: The Department of Justice National Sex Offender Registry check is also included.
4. Annual Checks: Background checks must be conducted annually for all volunteers, regardless of whether they have been volunteering for a year or more.
5. Integration with Sports Connect: For leagues participating in Sports Connect, the integration with JDP allows for a seamless background check process.
   It's important for all members of the Little League family, including parents, grandparents, and spectators, to be vigilant and report any individuals with regular, repetitive access to children. Little League encourages everyone to pay close attention to those who have regular, repetitive access to children to help ensure the safety of all participants.
