A Celebration of the World’s Game — Built for LYSC Players
This summer, LYSC is proud to introduce the LYSC World Cup Soccer Camp—a special, once-in-a-generation training experience created exclusively for our players.
In celebration of the World Cup coming to the United States, this camp is designed to bring the energy, excitement, and standards of the world’s game directly to the LYSC community. It is both a celebration and a challenge: an opportunity for our players to train with purpose, learn from exceptional coaches, and experience the game at a higher level—together.
The Camp Experience
Our camp environment is high-energy, positive, and player-centered. Each day is intentionally designed to balance technical development with creativity, decision-making, and real game understanding.
Players will work on core ball mastery and technique—dribbling, receiving, passing, and finishing—always within engaging activities that connect to real match moments. Age-appropriate small-sided games and guided challenges will encourage confidence, problem-solving, and smart habits both on and off the ball.
The goal is for every player to leave more confident, more capable, and more excited to keep playing, while also understanding the standards of effort, attitude, and teamwork that help players grow.
High-energy, player-first training that builds skill, confidence, and game smarts.
Leadership & Technical Staff
The LYSC World Cup Soccer Camp will be led by John Barata, whose experience and accomplishments set the standard for the camp’s professional approach.
John is a decorated Hall of Fame collegiate player, an accomplished club coach, and a current high school coach who has guided programs to multiple state championships in recent years. His leadership and impact on the game have been recognized with both State and National Coach of the Year honors. In addition to his success on the field, John is an experienced Camp Director, having led some of the region’s most respected soccer camps and specialty training programs. He is widely known for creating high-standard, positive training environments that challenge players while building confidence, accountability, and a genuine love for the game.
Supporting John will be an exceptional technical staff that includes:
- Top regional club coaches
- Current Division I, II, and III college players
- Former high school All-State and All-Americans
- Lynnfield boys’ and girls’ alumni now competing at the collegiate level
Together, this group will create a professionally managed, inspiring environment that reflects the best of the game and the best of LYSC.
Camp Commitment
The LYSC World Cup Soccer Camp is being offered as a special opportunity for our players and represents a $700+ camp experience provided at no cost to participating families. Because the camp is limited in size and staffing is planned carefully around the number of registered players, enrollment is considered a full-week commitment. Families are asked to register only if their player is able to attend and participate throughout the entire camp week.
If a registered player does not attend camp and the absence has not been communicated in advance, Lynnfield Youth Soccer Club may assess a $250 no-show administrative fee to help offset staffing and operational costs. We understand that unexpected conflicts may arise. Families are asked to notify LYSC as early as possible if their player can no longer attend so that the opportunity can be offered to another player. Our goal is to ensure that this limited opportunity is fully utilized by players who are excited and ready to participate.
