WHAT IF I BELIEVE MY PLAYER SHOULD PLAY IN A DIVISION THAT'S DIFFERENT THAN THEIR AGE ELIGIBILITY?
We absolutely want to help you be confident in your player's placement. In most cases, players should play in the division most appropriate for their age based on the Little League age chart. Allowing your child to be the leader on a younger team can build self-esteem, while being the little kid on an older team can rattle confidence. However, we recognize that there are some significant differences in skill levels between Tee Ball, Rookies, and Minors. If you believe your player has the experience and skills necessary to "play up," or if you feel it's in their best interest to "play down," please submit the Play Up / Play Down Form. Play Up / Play Down requests will be determined pending a skills evaluation. Evaluations for Rookies-Juniors will be held prior to Spring Break.

WHY DO ALL MINORS, MAJORS, AND JUNIORS PLAYERS NEED TO BE EVALUATED?
Skills evaluations are used to equally draft teams and ensure like competitiveness across each division.

ARE THE RESIDENCY & SCHOOL ENROLLMENT DOCUMENTS NECESSARY?
Residency and School Enrollment Document uploads are NOT required for registration submission. This documentation will only be required for All Star players older than 7 years old (All Star teams will be formed at the end of the season to compete in the District Tournament). Three forms of proof of residency OR the school enrollment form must be uploaded to your player's profile during the first week of All Star practices.

*If you expect your player to try out for an All Star Team at the end of the season, it may be easier to collect the School Enrollment Form before the end of the school year.*

IS THE MEDICAL RELEASE FORM NECESSARY?
Yes. This form need to be provided to your player's Head Coach at the first practice.

IS LITTLE LEAGUE FREE?
No. You will see a price of $0 for registration on the Chelsea Little League website because payment is being collected by Chelsea Community Education HERE. You
must submit registration on the CLL Website AND submit payment on Eleyo to complete your player's registration.

WHAT EQUIPMENT WILL MY PLAYER NEED?
Players will receive a hat and jersey with their registration fee. Players will need to provide their own pants, socks, belt, and athletic cup.

Team helmets and bats will be provided by Chelsea Community Ed for Small Ball and Tee Ball, though players are welcome to bring their own.

A limited number of batting helmets and bats will be available for Rookies-Juniors, players provide their own in these divisions. Additionally, each team is supplied with catcher's gear. Players may supply their own catcher's gear if they prefer, but it is not required.

*Please note, bike helmets and other non-approved helmets are not permitted. Players must use a baseball or softball helmet.*

WHY ARE THE 2026 SEASON DIVISIONS DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUS YEARS?
Most of the divisions, and the targeted skill-building at each, is largely the same. The biggest change we made was to remove Machine Pitch and change the Coach Pitch division name to better reflect the primary expected skill level for incoming players. The overwhelming feedback from previous years was that the Machine Pitch experience was inconsistent at best. The chart below sums up what's the same and what's different for the three lower levels in 2026.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH SIZE JERSEY AND HAT MY PLAYER NEEDS?
All players will receive a team jersey. Tee Ball - Rookies will receive an adjustable Chelsea Little League hat, Minors-Juniors will receive a fitted CLL hat. Please use the charts below to determine your player's sizes:

ALL STARS
All Star Teams will be determined pending coach recommendations, All Star Tryouts, and Board approval at the end of the regular season. These teams will compete in the District 3 Tournament which takes place 2-3 weeks after the close of regular season (usually the first or second week of July) and have the opportunity to advance to the State Tournament (usually the last week of July) and beyond. The All Stars teams are completely new teams comprised of the 13 best players from each division who reside in the Chelsea Little League boundaries and/or attend school within the Chelsea School District. Players must meet Little League eligibility requirements for the All Star team and be available to play in every game the week of the tournament.
