Welcome to Wildcat Cheer! I’m incredibly excited about this upcoming season! For our returning athletes, we are so fortunate to have you back! And for our newest athletes… WELCOME! We can’t wait to meet all of you!
Cheerleading has evolved so much over the years and our athletes prove to us that they are capable of so much, year over year. They will learn the fundamentals of cheer that will prepare them for whatever level of cheer they desire through athleticism and hard work. Better yet, they will be a part of a positive community, build relationships and create friendship, and work as a team based on a foundation of trust and partnership.
Thank you in advance for your support! Let’s Go Wildcats!

Coaches:
Coaches are selected by the Cheer Director.
Season:
Pre-season practice begins 5 - 7 weeks prior to Labor Day (mid - late July). Games begin the first weekend after Labor
Day (first Saturday after school begins). The regular season ends in October. Playoffs end in November, usually before
Thanksgiving.
Practice: Each squad will practice twice a week for 90 -120 minutes (in addition to game day practice). The Cheer Director and Coaches will determine specific days and times and communicate with their respective teams by the end of June.
Additional practices may be required to prepare for competitions.
Practices take place at Woolridge Elementary School unless otherwise noted by your athlete’s coach.
Games:
The game schedule is set by the CQL and is generally provided within a week of the first game. It will be shared with parents upon receipt. Mark your calendars as the first games begin the first weekend after Labor Day. Most games are played on Saturday morning or Saturday evening and the occasional Wednesday night game, as well.
Post
Season Play: Both conference winners and the six (6) teams with the next best records enter the playoffs in each division, Northern and Southern. The playoffs are single elimination and culminate with the “Superbowl” on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. There is no post season play in the Flag league. Seniors who are aging out of WAA Cheer may participate at the Super Senior game (details come near the end of each season).
Concession Stand: A concession stand is operated at home games to supplement the budget. At each home game, parents are expected to volunteer a minimum of 1 hour to working the concession stand.
Pictures:
Team and individual pictures are usually taken sometime during the season and
may be purchased for an additional fee.
Recognition:
An end of season ceremony is held following the season in recognition of your athletes.
