Sparks Crowned Girls March Madness Champs!

The 4th-6th grade girls championship game between the Sparks and Comets did not disappoint anyone Thursday night. The Sparks held on to a hard fought 15-14 victory. The Sparks seemed to be in control right from the tip and led 8-0 at the end of the first quarter. Things would stay the same going into halftime with the Sparks leading 12-3. The Comets rallied in the 3rd quarter holding the Sparks scoreless and cutting the lead down to just three points. The Comets cut the lead to one twice during the fourth quarter but could not get any closer. A late basket by Frances Bohner sealed the deal for the Sparks 15-14 victory. Frances led the Sparks with eight points while the sister combo of Hayden and Delaney Scarbrough added four and three points respectively. Ellie Carico had a game high ten points for the Comets with Emery Carico pitching in three points.
