OPENING DAY CEREMONIES

On Thursday, July 27th, the opening day ceremonies will be held at 6:30 p.m., between the two games.  We have arranged for the Red Sox mascot, as well as the Red Sox World Series trophies, to be present for pictures.

WOOSOX GAME

The Oxford Little League has purchased WooSox tickets for all players, managers and coaches, along with District Administrators.

The game is on Saturday, July 29th and starts at 4:30 p.m.  We ask that all players wear their uniforms.  We have arranged meet-and-greets with the players and some other special events at the game.  We hope that this addition to the weekend will be memorable for the players and coaches, just like it is at Williamsport where major league players interact with the Little League players.

There have been some tickets set aside for family members to purchase if they also would like to attend.

HOTELS

Some rooms have been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express in Auburn, Massachusetts for this event.  There are several other hotels in Auburn, all of which are a few miles away from Stanley Johnson Field.

FOOD DRIVE

The Red Sox Foundation and Stop & Shop will be running a food drive during the tournament.  Below is a message from the Red Sox Foundation:

 “Hello Competing Teams –

Congratulations on advancing to the State Tournament!

Our proud supporters, the Red Sox Foundation in partnership with Stop & Shop are conducting a food drive during our tournament next week! The food collected during the first two days of the tournament will support the Stop & Shop School Food Pantry Program. Through this program, Stop & Shop works directly with schools to establish and support food pantries to ensure that kids don't have to go to school hungry—and to help them perform their best. Some of these very pantries are located in neighborhoods in or around their Little League communities.

How it works: Stop & Shop School Food Pantry has sent a collection box that is labeled with each team’s name. If you are inclined to support, please bring any items listed on the attached flyer and place them in your team’s respective collection bin. Additionally, you can make a monetary donation online via our website. If you decide to make a monetary donation online, please select “Other” for Program/Event and where it says, “Other Program” please type in your team’s name and state. The team that collects the most donations during the first two days of your state’s tournament will be recognized at Fenway Park on Friday, September 22nd during Stop & Shop’s Strike Out School Hunger Game.

When & Where: Bins will be located at the site of your child’s first game of the State Tournament.

Winning Prize: Every can/item that is collected will count as a $1 monetary donation, the team with the highest donation will receive tickets to the Red Sox vs. White Sox game on Friday, September 22nd and will be recognized on the field.

Best Regards,
The Red Sox Foundation”
