2020 Spring Season Update

Hello OLL Families, 

Regarding our baseball season this year, the Oxford Little League will be following the guidelines and planned dates for phased reopening that have been supplied by Massachusetts (through Governor Baker) and the Town of Oxford.  Under those guidelines, youth sports are permitted to resume in phase two and games are going to be played in phase three.  We will monitor the state and local guidance and adjust our calendar if the planned phases are delayed or otherwise altered.  As it stands today, here are the dates for the 2020 Oxford Little League season:

June 8th – practices begin (Phase 2)
June 29th – game play begins (Phase 3)
August 8th – season ends (approximately 14 games)
August 10th-30th  – available for all star tournament play (please note that there is no tournament play for players at the t-ball and minors divisions)

As we move forward with the 2020 season, all of our team rosters have been created, our managers and coaches have been selected and the equipment and uniform orders for the season have been completed.

At this time we need to confirm that your son or daughter is still going to PARTICIPATE in this upcoming season.

While we understand the current circumstances, we have been informed by the state that baseball is safe to play this season.  Beyond our normal safety plan for players and other participants in our league, all safety protocols that are provided by the state and the Town of Oxford, including through our agent from the Board of Health, will be followed for this upcoming season. 

Everyone either has or should be hearing from your team manager.  We ask that you let your manager know, and also that you email the OLL at [email protected],  if your player will not be participating in the 2020 season. 

Currently anyone that does not want to participate in the 2020 season can have this year’s registration fee credited toward next year’s baseball registration fee.

Please understand that there is a lot of time and effort put in by all of our volunteers in order to make Oxford Little League baseball a fun and exciting time for all of the players.

If your player will not be participating in the upcoming season, please contact your team manager and email the OLL by Wednesday, May 27, 2020 so that any necessary adjustments to rosters and team schedules can be made.
