REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR THE 2023 LADY HAWKS SEASON

Lady Hawks is Prescott Girls Softball Association's competitive travel team, with teams in 10U and 12U. 

Lady Hawks differs from the PGSA rec ball in a number of ways. Rec ball is focused on providing an environment where girls are introduced to the sport of softball, and provide beginner and intermediate levels of skill development, with the ultimate focus being on promoting having fun and socializing among those interested in the sport.

Lady Hawks will still focus on having fun, but ramps up in skill development. Practice drills and expectations will be raised a level with the goal to provide intermediate and advanced softball skills development.

Practices typically start in April, to which all age-eligible players are welcome. After tryouts (typically in mid-May), athletes and families can expect to be practicing at least 2-3 days per week from May through August. Lady Hawks teams typically participate in 3-4 tournaments between May and August.

COSTS
Costs differ per team placement, and include a portion of the costs upfront, then payments due in July and/or August, and a $50 cost for each player for each tournament they attend. Please contact your coach if you have questions about the costs of your team.

TRAVEL PLAN
Tournaments are typically in the Prescott, Prescott Valley, and Phoenix areas. Phoenix tournaments generally require ta least one hotel overnight in Phoenix. Travel costs are the responsibility of the players.

PLAYING UP
Unlike with rec ball, where PGSA encourages playing above one's age group if she has advanced skills and/or size relative to the age appropriate to the player, "playing up" is not encouraged in travel ball. Thus, players who are 10U eligible, but playing the rec season in 12U, are not encouraged to try for the 12U Lady Hawks team. Rather, PGSA would prefer those players play for the 10U Lady Hawks team.
