What is GMF? Gettysburg Midget Football is a recreational organization devoted to teaching youth football and cheerleading to children who reside in the Gettysburg Area School District and surrounding areas. The goal of our organization is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables children to learn and apply the principles of team work, discipline, dedication and sportsmanship. We welcome all children regardless of race, creed or national origin. GMF is registered as a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization. We appreciate the generous support of the community, local merchants, and civic organizations and depend on participant fundraising. We are wholly sustained by the efforts of volunteers who display the extraordinary amount of commitment of their time and hard work, ensuring that GMF is a positive influence in the lives of our children.
Why should my child join? Gettysburg Midget Football strives to be the best in our league! We promote physical fitness, community involvement, build self-confidence, structure and ever lasting friendships are formed. We love football and cheerleading and want your child to love it too! 60 years strong.
How are children separated into teams? Teams are organized by age groups. Participant must be 5 years old by April 30, 2021, and no older than 13 on April 30, 2022. We offer Flag football for 4/5 year olds.
What league does GMF belong to? We belong to the "Nationally Ranked" CFA league. Their website is football-cfa.org.
When do the teams practice? The 2022 season begins August 1nd and practice will run Monday-Thursday till the school year begins.
Does GMF provide all of the equipment? For football players we provide everything except cleats and socks. Our helmets are inspected and certified to ensure your child's safety. Cheerleaders are provided with vest, skirt, crop top & bloomers. Warm ups,cheer shoes and bow must be purchased by parents.
Equipment is expected to be returned. The equipment is loaned to our players. When equipment is not returned there is a possibility that steps will need to be taken at the magistrate level.
Where do we play our home games? Warrior Stadium, 37 Lefever St. Gettysburg, Pa.
What are the registration fees/requirements? Football and Cheer registration is $85.00. Volunteer fee is $100.00 per family and will be returned monthly after 3 hours of volunteer time is completed.
Kids 5-10;Donation of 2 eight pack 20 oz Bottles of Gatorade, 11 & Up: 2 12 packs of either Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Sprite , Diet Coke, Coke,Rootbeer,or Mt. Dew. Players going into 7th & 8th grade in the 2022 /23 year register for FREE!
Do we offer multiple player discount? $15.00 off for every child after first registered participant. GMF is pleased to announce, the option of payment plans when you register online with a check card or credit card.
