MESSIAH UNIVERSITY FIELD HOCKEY CAMP

Resident Camp

July 14-17, 2024                    2024 Pricing:   $485 Resident   &   $385 Commuter                 Grades 6-12

*Registration closes at noon on Sunday, July 7th (unless camp fills by an earlier date)

Resident Camp is geared towards athletes heading into grades 6 through 12 who have an interest in improving their individual skill and field hockey IQ in a fun and competitive environment.

The morning and afternoon sessions focus on both technical (skill) and tactical (decision making) training, while the evening session is more game-like.  The evening session consists of 7 v. 7 and 11 v. 11 games which allow the material learned earlier in the day to be applied on a larger scale.

Campers will be assigned to small groups (squads) and larger teams based on their grade level and team/school affiliation.

Within those groups, players will be assigned a squad leader and a team coach for the week. The majority of our staff members are either current players or former players in the Messiah program who share a common passion for providing an intentional learning experience. Our coach-to-player ratio is better than 1:10, and all staff must be committed to high moral and ethical standards.

Commuter Option: We offer the ability to commute from home at a discounted price--$385. The day runs from 8:30 am until 8:30 pm and includes lunch and dinner each day. If interested, you will have the option of choosing Commuter Camp in the Registration Process. *Those entering 6th grade are required to select the Commuter Option.

Goalie Training: We offer excellent goalie training as part of our Resident Camp. Goalies train exclusively with goalie coaches for the morning and afternoon sessions each day and then are assigned to a team for the evening session. Goalies are required to bring their own gear to camp.  The opportunity to designate that you are attending camp as a goalie is found within the general camp Registration.

COVID POLICY:

All campers are asked to not attend if they are exposed to COVID within 3-5 days prior to camp. If any campers begin to develop symptoms while at camp, we have the capability to administer a rapid antigen test, however parental consent must be obtained to administer a test.  A parent may also choose to come and pickup his/her camper if they choose to not test for COVID.

We ask campers to practice healthy hand washing and cough hygiene practices.

*Policies are subject to change based on CDC and institutional recommendations.
