The 2020 season marks Brooke Good's ninth year as head coach of Messiah field hockey. Four years ago she led the Falcons to their first-ever NCAA Division III National Championship, with a perfect 22-0 record against Division III competition. The Falcons' national title win may also go down as one of the greatest finals in Division III history as Messiah defeated Tufts University in a penalty shootout (1-0, 2-1 PS).
Messiah's National Championship was played in freezing temperatures, wind, and snow, and the victory ended a title drought for one of the most famed programs in all of NCAA field hockey. The win secured Messiah's first-ever title, and it also come in their ninth appearance in the national final.
In the 2018 season she led the Falcons to the NCAA Division III National Championship again, this time finishing as the National Runner-Up.
Through seven seasons Good has kept the Falcons among the top programs in all of NCAA Division III. She's led them to MAC Commonwealth Championships in each season, making it 12-straight seasons overall that the Falcons have won the title. Additionally, Messiah has now qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 18-straight seasons.
Good has compiled a 144-30 overall record in eight years, and the Falcons have won at least 15 games in each campaign.
In addition to her role as field hockey coach Good serves Assistant Athletics Director, Senior Woman Administrator (SWA), and Title IX Deputy for the Falcons. She assumed each of these roles in the Summer of 2016, ending a long-time run as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.
Prior to being named head coach, Good served for nine years as an assistant coach with the field hockey program. Over that stretch of time, the Falcons qualified for nine NCAA Championship Tournaments and advanced to six "Final Fours." They finished as the National Runner-Up four times. As an assistant, her main responsibilities included leading the team's defensive strategy while improving each player's defensive capabilities.
Good is a 2003 Messiah College graduate who earned numerous field hockey honors as a centerback and center midfielder during her four-year field hockey career at Messiah. She was named All-Commonwealth three times from 2000 to 2002. Good also made the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team as a senior in 2002, and was a Second Team NCAA All-American.
Also during her time with the Falcons, Good was a standout softball player. As a catcher and utility player Good was again a three-time All-Commonwealth player (2001, 2002, 2003) and a Regional All-American in 2003.
After graduating from Messiah College, Good went on to Millersville University where she obtained her M.Ed. in Sport Management in 2006. While completing her degree, she also worked as an instructor for the U.S. Hockey Futures program.
In addition to her role within Messiah Athletics, Good works in the offseason supporting a small family business in Avalon, N.J. properly entitled "It's All Good."

Jen Jacobs
Goalie Coach
Jen Jacobs returns to the sideline in 2020 for her 22nd season with the Messiah field hockey program.
Jacobs works primarily as the goalkeeper coach, and her individual skill instruction, tactical decision-making, and conditioning leadership has proven pivotal for the Falcons' on-field success. To that end, Jacobs' work with Shelby Landes was on full display in the Falcons' 2016 National Championship and penalty shootout win over Tufts. In the shootout, Landes' individual effort turned away three attempts from the Jumbos, and she forced another shot wide to help Messiah win the shootout, 2-1.
A 1994 graduate of Messiah, Jen holds a degree in Health and Physical Education. Upon graduation, she worked for two years at the Mechanicsburg Intermediate School before working for two years in the Boiling Springs School District.
Jacobs is a homemaker and also does freelance acting and modeling. Jen and her husband, Ric, were married in 1996, and they have three sons, Eric, Marcus, and Bennett, and two daughters, Julia and Annie. They reside in nearby Dillsburg, Pa.
