David W. Cooper, a Pensacola native, has seven years of soccer coaching experience. His competitive soccer journey began as player for the West Florida Hurricanes (Pensacola, FL.) During his high school years, David was captain of the Woodham High School Varsity team and was voted All Star Player for the North West Florida Area. While earning his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Florida, David continued playing in a college intramural team, a 6v6 League as well as on a local amateur team that traveled around the Gulf Coast. After college, David has continued to play recreationally in various leagues.
David’s coaching philosophy is to create a fun environment that helps players develop skills to reach their highest potential both as individuals and as part of a team. He implements this philosophy in everyday training. David has previously held the title of Assistant Coach of the Woodham High School Girls Varsity Team and Assistant Coach of the Pensacola Football Club (PFC) U-16 Girls. After taking a hiatus to focus on career and family, David returned to coaching to West Florida Soccer Club’s (WFSC, formerly known as Santa Rosa Football Club) recreational league for four years and currently coaches the WFSC’s Competitive U-10 Boys Team.
