Softball Age Divisions
Development League 3/4 yr olds (Co-Ed)
This instructional league gives kids the opportunity to play baseball for the first time. Coaches and parents will interact with the kids to teach them how to throw and catch a ball and swing a bat. Sessions are held on Sunday afternoons on the Yellow Field.
6U Softball- Tball
Games are played on the Yellow field and the focus is learning the basics of softball. Coaches will pitch underhanded 5 balls and then if a child does not hit the tee will be used. Teams typically bat half the team each inning. Girls use a 10” soft tee softballs.
8U Softball - Coach Pitch
The focus of this league is continued improvement of fundamentals and for players to start learning basic softball strategy. There is more competition but with the goal of having fun. Coaches will pitch to their team underhanded with outs and runs recorded. Players will play standard softball positions with a fielding pitcher. Games are played on the Blue Field. Girls use 11” softballs
10U Softball – Kid Pitch
This division is much more competitive with kids now pitching. The focus of this league continues to be fundamentals but skills are enhanced. Girls are allowed to steal any base.10 kids are in the field of play. Girls use 11” softballs and pitch from 35’.60’ base paths.
12-14U Softball – Kid Pitch
This division is highly competitive and gets players ready to play High School rules softball. The focus of this league moves away from basic fundamentals to higher level and advanced skills some of which are position specific. 10 kids are in the field of play. Girls use 12” softballs and pitch from 40’. 60’ base paths.
