2024 Soccer

Our coed program focuses on skill development, teamwork, and fun while providing a supportive environment for players of all levels.

NEW TO 2024

Floyd County Parks and Recreation will partner with SWVA Rush Soccer to provide a better experience for the soccer community in Floyd County.

The Southwest Virginia Rush Soccer Recreational Program is an exciting, fun and energetic program for players U4-U14. This unique recreational soccer program will provide players with a solid knowledge and love for the game of soccer. Rush aims to foster a safe, fun, educational experience for your child as well as a solid foundation for a lifetime game.

The club strives to provide a high quality youth sports experience for the players, coaches and families who are our stakeholders. Our vision is to engage families and empower and develop players. SWVA Rush does NOT turn any player away due to financial issues.

All games/practices will be at the Rec Park.

Each participant will be required to have shin guards, no exceptions.

2024 Cheerleading

The purpose of recreational cheer is to provide our entire youth community interested in a positive cheer experience at an appropriate level. It is expected that recreational cheer programs will offer participants the opportunity to have fun while increasing their physical fitness, learn new cheerleading skills, as well as learn teamwork, fair play, leadership, sportsmanship, time-management skills, cooperation, trust, and regard for others.

This program provides an introduction to basic cheer, stunts, and techniques. Cheer squads are assigned to a football team in the corresponding area and age group. League requires travel.

*Please accurately measure your child. This will greatly reduce complications when ordering uniforms. Size information is listed on each selection.*

2024 Football

2024 Football league offerings include Flag (grades K-1), Mite tackle (grades 2-3), Junior tackle (grades 4-5) and Senior tackle (grades 6-7).

Please note that middle schoolers (or 7th graders playing middle school) are NOT eligible to play rec football, regardless of their age.

All age groups will play in the NRV League. The league consists of Floyd, Auburn, East Mont, Christiansburg, Blacksburg, Radford, Pulaski County and parts of Giles County.

Generally, teams will have 8-10 game schedules.

Home games will be played at Floyd County High School.

Travel WILL be required for all football leagues.

Flag will travel to Auburn and East Mont.

AGE CUTOFFS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED IN TACKLE LEAGUES. NO EXCEPTIONS WHATSOEVER .

Birth certificates are now required for the NRV League

The Department will provide all equipment, including a mouthpiece and jersey.
