Resident/Goal Keeper Camp:   July 29 - August 1, 2024     Entering Grades 6-12

All sixth graders attending the Resident/Goal Keeper Camp must attend as Commuters.

The Messiah Girl's Soccer Resident/Goal Keeper Camp is designed for players who desire to grow and develop their skills in the game of soccer.  The camp provides specific training for field players and goal keepers during the training sessions and then brought together for league games and all other activities.

The emphasis in the training sessions is to provide players the tools necessary to become an effective player and enhance their love for the game.  The primary areas of focus are individual skill development in the areas of receiving, passing, turning, change of direction, and shooting.  These technical skills are then incorporated with small sided games to provide opportunity for teaching the tactical elements of the game and incorporating the technical skills. Campers will be placed on teams as well for League Games to again provide them the ability to incorporate what they have learned in their technical and tactical training sessions into the larger game.

Campers participating in the Goal Keeper Camp will train exclusively with goal keepers and then be incorporated into the League games with the field players.  Goal Keeper training will focus on the fundamental elements of foot work, proper catching technique, diving, handling the air ball, break-a-ways, and distribution.

The Resident Camp divides campers into two groups for training and competition.  The Junior Group is composed of rising 6th -  8th graders while the Senior Group is players entering grades 9-12.  

COMMUTER OPTION:  There is a Commuter option for individuals who may not wish to spend the night on dorm.  These campers will report to camp in the morning at 8:45 AM and be dismissed in the evening at 8:30 PM.  They will have lunch and dinner provided.

All 6th graders attending the Resident Camp or the Goal Keeper Camp must attend as a Commuters.

Camp Closing on Thursday afternoon at 4:30
Campers will play their League Play-off games in the afternoon and parents are invited and encouraged to come and watch.
