Oregon Youth Soccer Elects New President

Oregon Youth Soccer Elects New President - Looks to Improve Youth Soccer in the State

The non-profit’s mission is to put kids first by serving our clubs to provide a safe, positive, forward-thinking soccer environment.

BEAVERTON, OR JANUARY 24TH, 2023 — Recently, Oregon Youth Soccer Association celebrated the election of new leadership for the 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation with a newly elected president, Scott Enyart, during their annual general meeting. The organization provides coaches, clubs, and referees with helpful resources to empower all youth players both on and off the field since 1974.

OYSA provides equal opportunities for all players regardless of age, gender, or skill level. They are passionate about creating safe and supportive environments by offering top-notch training resources and innovative programming ensuring everyone has access to the best soccer experience possible. OYSA strives to benefit individual youth players and families with principles centered around fun sportsmanship, respect, and team spirit.

“For nearly 50 years, OYSA played an important role in the development of the beautiful game in Oregon and southwest Washington though our member organizations, staff, and volunteers.  It is an honor to be asked to help guide this organization and look forward to meeting members of the soccer community in the coming months.” Scott Enyart, OYSA Board President

The public benefit corporation embraces the ideology that youth of all ages should have the opportunity to play sports in a safe and supportive environment. Coaches and referees should have the best training available. Clubs should have the resources necessary for a successful affordable youth soccer program because the principles set forth early in adolescence can benefit players throughout their lives.

Butch Pollard Eastside Timbers & Thorns President -  “It is very encouraging to have Scott leading OYSA.   His listening skills, analytical and proactive problem-solving ability, humble temperament, and leadership style will bring us back to a statewide youth soccer organization.  Youth soccer, nationwide, is being challenged. Scott will be able to help lead the state, with your help, into a unified, focused, and challenge solving youth soccer organization.  We need to get on board to support him and the Board of Directors, so we can be the example of what teamwork will accomplish.”

Scott Enyart has been a longtime supporter of OYSA, having served a member of the board of directors for 20+ number of years in a variety of positions and even serves in the organization’s foundation. Enyart has served multiple nonprofits in the Portland metro area and believes that giving back to the community only makes us stronger and helps to build a more robust, collaborative community. Enyart welcomes all feedback and can be reached at [email protected]
