Winter 2024 Indoor Futsal Academy

Union County Youth Soccer Association (UCYSA) is excited to welcome youth soccer players of all ages and skill levels to their Winter Indoor Futsal Academy.

Futsal provides an opportunity for youth to play soccer indoors while the snow is on the ground outdoors. Futsal is played all over the world in over 100 countries and by more than 12 million players.

The priority of Futsal or Indoor soccer is to motivate players in an environment that is conductive to learning. The more pleasure that kids derive from their participation, the more they wish to play and practice on their own. While their instinct to play is natural, their affection and appreciation for soccer must be cultivated. Futsal is the foundation to such goals.

Allows players to frequently touch the one ball on the field.

Presents many opportunities to score goals.

Encourages regaining possession of the ball as a productive, fun and rewarding part of the game (defending).

Maximizes active participation and minimizes inactivity and boredom.

Provides a well organized playing environment with improvised fields.

Reflects the philosophy of player development expressed in state and national coaching schools.

Eliminates complicated rules such as off-sides that may hinder youngsters from “playing”.

Reflects the appropriate roll of the coach as a Facilitator.

Makes the game more “beginning coach” friendly because the game is simpler, thus making it easier to recruit more volunteer “coaches”.

Allows the game to be the teacher!

Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (Times TBD)

U7 - 3:00pm - 4:00pm

U9 - 4:00pm - 5:00pm

U11 - 5:00pm - 6:00pm

U13 - 6:00pm - 7:00pm

U15, U17- 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Season: Runs from December to February
