2026 SUMMER Recreational Soccer

The purpose of the program is to facilitate the development of soccer skills, leadership and life skills. The objective is to provide a fun and rewarding playing experience, by facilitating positive learning environments and building intentional team cultures, that facilitate whole player development. This program extends beyond teaching soccer skills. It promotes players and coaches to adopt a growth mindset. UCYSA believes in the power of human potential. That players and coaches are not limited by their past experience. That everyone is capable of learning new skills and becoming the best version of them selves. That a positive attitude and consistent effort are the keys to success. And most importantly, that the game belongs to the players, and that youth sports should be a fun and rewarding experience.

Summer Soccer Practices will begin on Monday, June 29, 2026 or Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Games will begin on Monday, July 20, 2026 or Tuesday, July 21, 2026. All divisions and leagues will be based upon the number of participants that register. Game Schedules will be based on the following:

Divisions will be combined to create maximum opportunities and sufficient player numbers. Please register your player in the appropriate division.

- U6 (8/1/2020 - 7/31/2021); U7 (8/1/2019 - 7/31/2020); U8 (08/01/2018 - 07/31/2019) Coed

Union County Youth Soccer Association is offering players the age of 5, 6, and 7 years old an opportunity to further their soccer skills in this developmental league. There will be no travel required for this league as it is not a competitive division. This program is designed to introduce kids in the required age field to the game of soccer and help further their basic skills. The objective of small-sided games is to make sure that players are getting more touches and decisions with the ball. This also simplifies the decision making process by having less players on the field. We encourage our coaches to create fun, but learning environment where players can be creative and make mistakes that they can learn from.

Game Length/Format: 4v4 games, 4–10 minute quarters
Activity Priorities: Fun, Physical Movement, Time on the Ball, Engagement, Creativity
Playing Time: Everyone plays at least 50% of each game with a goal of 75%
Ball Size: Size 3 ball
Coaching Philosophy: Player Centered, High Energy, Engaging, Asks Questions
Style of Play: Soccer Decisions, Creativity, Experimental Coaches
Toolkit Preferences: Positive Feedback, Guided Questions, Key Words

- U9 (08/01/2017 - 07/31/2018); U10 (08/01/2016 - 07/31/2017) Coed

Union County Youth Soccer Association is offering players the age of 8 and 9 years old an opportunity to further their soccer skills in this developmental league. There will be no travel required for this league as it is not a competitive division. Union County Youth Soccer Association (UCYSA) is offering players the age of 10, 11, and 12 years old an opportunity to further their soccer skills on the pitch in this recreational soccer league. UCYSA league soccer rules are sanctioned by Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA). This league is designed to provide a higher skill level of training to benefit and enhance the development of players at this level.

Game Length/Format: 9v9 games, Formal League Play, 2-25 Minute Halves
Ball Size: Size 4 or 5 ball
Intentional heading is prohibited in this division U11 and under. Allowed in U12 and older

Union County Youth Soccer Association (UCYSA) is offering players the age of 13 and 14 years old an opportunity to further their soccer skills on the pitch in this recreational soccer league. UCYSA league soccer rules are sanctioned by Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA). This is not a travel team.

Ball Size: Size 5 ball

UCYSA league soccer rules are sanctioned by Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA). This is not a travel team.

Game Length/Format: 5 v 5 games or 11 v 11 based on teams and numbers, Formal League Play, 2-25 Minute Halves or Small sided games depending upon registration numbers.
