NYSA is committed to supporting the education of our volunteer coaches. NYSA encourages all coaches to further their coaching education through sponsored instructional programs by offering reimbursement for these approved courses (please refer to course list below). 

For those with no previous soccer experience, these courses help you develop the knowledge and skills to be a successful youth coach.

For those with prior coaching experience, these courses will allow you to develop the strong foundation in player development and age appropriate coaching skills. This will translate your prior knowledge and experience into highly effective youth coaching practices. 

NYSA will reimburse current coaches for completing grassroots licensing courses through U.S. Soccer as well as United Soccer Coaches.  This includes courses up to and including the 11v11 modules.  'Current coaches' are coaches registered with NYSA in the current or upcoming soccer season.  Pre-approval from the league for more advanced or specialized courses is required.  Upon successful completion of the course, a coach must submit a receipt of payment and a copy of their certificate to the treasurer at [email protected] for reimbursement.  If there is a question about whether a particular training is covered or other questions regarding the policy please contact  [email protected].
