Majors - (11-12 years old) | Program Fee: $115.00
The goal of our Majors program is for players to think, act, and play baseball like dedicated athletes. Like all other divisions, the Majors division will continue to develop the players' skill sets, but athletes will be expected to lead by example in terms of committing themselves to represent baseball excellence. As players continue learning even more complex rules of the game, their ability to apply their baseball knowledge and prior game experience during "situations" will also be honed. Coaches will guide athletes during practices and games, but the players' ability to "thinking" on his or her own will be expected.
The Majors Division is co-ed, and the roster size averages 10-13 players.
A Majors baseball field is 60-foot diamond and 46 feet pitching distance. The season includes 2-3 practices per week with a single game played on weekends and possibly a single game on a weekday. Scores are kept in this division, and a continuous batting order is maintained.
After the regular season (beginning in mid-June), players may express an interest to play at the All-Star level which consists of "trying out" for a rostered spot on an advanced team within Twin City Baseball. The All-Star team will compete in NC District 2's Tournament of Champions and beyond with the hopes of advancing to the Little League International Tournament. The culmination and ultimate goal of the International Tournament is to advance to the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in August. The LL World Series features teams from around the world and is televised live on ESPN. All expenses for the teams advancing to the Little League World Series (travel, meals, and housing) are paid by Little League International.
WE ARE FAMILY!!
Parent/guardian participation is crucial to the success of the Majors program. In this division, one family per player will be asked to volunteer once during the regular season. Family members of All-Star players will also be asked to volunteer at least once during tournament play. Information will be shared during the TCB Parent/Guardian Meeting in March.
