Tee Ball (4-6 years old)

Tee Ball is the entry level division for players. This experience is grounded in fun and learning baseball fundamentals while also being key to growing a child’s love for the game. Every player will bat each inning and all players will play in the field each inning as well. No score will be kept for games, and a continuous batting order will be maintained.

The Tee Ball Division is co-ed, and the roster size averages 7-10 players. The season includes 1-2 practices per week with a single game played on weekends.

Parent/guardian participation is crucial to the success of the Tee Ball program. Volunteering is highly recommended. Information will be shared during the TCB Parent/Guardian Meeting in March.

Minors - Machine Pitch (7-8 years old)

The goal of our Machine Pitch program is to help young players transition from batting using a tee in Tee Ball to batting a ball being pitched by a machine. This division will allow players to begin refining their hitting, fielding, and throwing while continuing to learn the rules of baseball.

The Machine Pitch Division is co-ed, and the roster size averages 10-13 players. The season includes 2 practices per week with a single game played on weekends and possibly a single game on a weekday.  Scores are kept in this division, and a continuous batting order is maintained.

Minors - Player Pitch (9-10 years old)

The goal of our Player Pitch program is to help young players transition from hitting off a machine (in Machine Pitch) to batting a ball thrown by an actual player in the same division from the opposing team.  This division will continue to advance the players by refining their hitting, fielding, and throwing while building upon their baseball foundation.  As players continue learning more complex rules of the game, players will begin to explore baseball "situations" and begin to strategize based on their position. Coaches will guide players during practices and games, but the ultimate goal is for players to be able to "think" on their own and apply their baseball knowledge .

Majors - (11-12 years old)

The goal of our Majors program is for players to think, act, and play baseball like dedicated athletes. Like all other divisions, the Majors division will continue to develop the players' skill sets, but athletes will be expected to lead by example in terms of committing themselves to represent baseball excellence.  As players continue learning even more complex rules of the game, their ability to apply their baseball knowledge and prior game experience during "situations" will also be honed. Coaches will guide athletes during practices and games, but the players' ability to "thinking" on his or her own will be expected.

After the regular season (beginning in mid-June), players may express an interest to play at the All-Star level which consists of "trying out" for a rostered spot on an advanced team within Twin City Baseball.  The All-Star team will compete in NC District 2's Tournament of Champions and beyond with the hopes of advancing to the Little League International Tournament. The culmination and ultimate goal of the International Tournament is to advance to the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in August. The LL World Series features teams from around the world and is televised live on ESPN.  All expenses for the teams advancing to the Little League World Series (travel, meals, and housing) are paid by Little League International.
