Juniors Softball - (13-14 years old) | Program Fee: $130.00
The goal of our Majors program is for players to think, act, and play softball like dedicated athletes. Like all other divisions, the Majors division will continue to develop the players' skill sets, but athletes will be expected to lead by example in terms of committing themselves to represent baseball excellence.
As players continue learning even more complex rules of the game, their ability to apply their baseball knowledge and prior game experience during "situations" will also be honed. Coaches will guide athletes during practices and games, but the players' ability to "thinking" on his or her own will be expected. The skill level of the player will be assessed during "League Evaluations" (a day before the first practice where players come out to have coaches gauge their skill set.)
The Juniors Softball Division is for girls, and the roster size averages 10-13 players.
A Juniors baseball field is 90-foot diamond and 60 feet, 6 inches pitching distance. Modified diamond dimensions may be used during the regular season. The season includes 2-3 practices per week with a single game played on weekdays and possibly a double-header game on a weekend. Scores are kept in this division, and a continuous batting order is maintained.
In May, players may express an interest to play on the All-Star team which consists of "trying out" for a rostered spot on an advanced team for the league. There is a tryout fee, and there is paperwork to be submitted before being selected for the team. Advancing in the tournament is the goal, so the commitment to summer practices and the commitment to summer games are extremely important. More information will be shared in May when Little League releases tournament dates.
WE ARE FAMILY!!
Parent/guardian participation is crucial to the success of the Juniors program. In this division, one family per player will be asked to volunteer once during the regular season. Family members of All-Star players will also be asked to volunteer at least once during tournament play. Information will be shared during the TCB Parent/Guardian Meeting in March.
