12U BASEBALL LEAGUE RULES

• Book shall be kept every game by home team

• Both coaches and umpires should know exact game time so they know when it ends. Scorekeeper should note in the scorebook. No new inning should begin once official time has elapsed unless a tied game. A new inning begins when the last out of an inning is recorded

• Game time is 75 minutes or 6 innings 

• 46’ pitching distance & 60’ base path

  • No lead offs. Can steal once the ball crosses the plate.

  • If the runner leaves early is a dead ball and returns to the base..

• Ball is live until the pitcher gets on the rubber.

• 5 runs per inning

• Dropped 3rd strike is only in effect with 2 outs

• Each team will bat their entire roster. 

• Sliding into home is not mandatory - but cannot make intentional contact

• Infield fly rule is in play

• Pitching rules will be as follows:

  • 85 Pitches Max (allowed to finish at bat)

    • 1-20 (0 Days Rest)

    • 21-35 (1 Day Rest)

    • 36-50 (2 Days Rest)

    • 51-65 (3 Days Rest)

    • 66+ (4 Days Rest)

• If a pitcher leaves the game from the mound they cannot re-enter as a pitcher

• Ten run rule in effect after 4 innings game is over

• If the game is tied at the end of regulation, play 1 extra inning.  Last batter from the prior inning starts on 2nd base and each team gets three outs. (International tie breaker)

• Makeup games will be scheduled by League Leadership

• Substitute player rule:  If a team is short of players a team may pick up another player from that age group.  However, that must be announced by each team if a player is picked up and Player must be positioned in the outfield and bats last.  7 players are acceptable.

• If a team plays with 7 players there are no outs recorded  for the missing player in the lineup.

• All metal bats must have USA Baseball or USSSA stamps on them. Wooden bats will be allowed but must be no longer than 33 inches and diameter no bigger 2 ⅝.
