Danville Little League Baseball (DLLBB) - A Danville Tradition Since 1956

Danville Baseball Club (DBC)

What is Danville Baseball Club?

Danville Baseball Club (DBC) is designed with the goal of providing Danville Little League families/players an additional and more competitive baseball experience that is both local and more affordable than true 'travel' programs.  Our focus is on the growth of our Danville baseball community including skill development, sportsmanship, confidence, and friendships of not only our players but also families. The Board is committed to developing our local community of players to promote future growth and success in our local/district tournaments that will carry over to future baseball opportunities in middle/high school and beyond.

How are the players selected?

Final player selection will be determined by the Board of Directors and selected coaches based on required tryout evaluations.  Player age is determined by the 2025 Little League Age Chart. (Players may be offered the opportunity to play up as skill and need dictates.)

How are coaches selected?

Head and assistant coaches will be selected by the Board of Directors after review of required coaching applications and background checks, as well as after review of feedback from prior years for interested returning coaches.

How many DBC teams are planned and at what age divisions?

The number of teams will be determined based on the number of players trying out as well as the number of interested/qualified coaches. (8U thru 12U) We anticipate 1 team at each age group, however it is also possible to combine age groups to form a team. It is also possible to have more than 1 team at an age group.  Each team will have a maximum of 12 players.

Are DBC players required to play Danville Little League Baseball?

Yes. To the best of our ability, DBC commitments will be planned around Little League rec practices and games in order to avoid conflicts.  Increased prioritization will be placed on DBC practices and commitments. DBC players will also receive a discount on their DLLBB rec registration to help offset costs.

Will DBC players have the opportunity to play on the Little League District All-Star team?

Yes.  However, DBC players will be required to try out with other non-DBC Little League players for the district team.

What is anticipated for fall/winter workouts?

Indoor winter workouts will be planned 1-2 times per week beginning after January 1 and will be scheduled to best avoid conflicts with other sports/activities. Offseason workouts for 2024 were alternated between The Center at Northview indoor turf, D-Bat in Avon, and the Danville HS Main Gymnasium balconies/batting cages. We are currently evaluating the best options for 2025 offseason workouts.

DBC coaches will have the flexibility to hold optional practices/workouts, at no additional cost to families, as player/coach availability allows from the time of team selection through the end of the year.

Parents/players are encouraged to seek out local instructors/facilities to improve their baseball skill set as they desire during the fall and early winter. We are looking at local options for offering small group or individual instruction and discounts as part of DBC membership.

What can we expect for our spring DBC season for practices and games?

Currently we are planning to again participate in the Sunday Showcase League hosted by Tri-West Little league with each age group. Each team will participate in 4 Sunday local doubleheaders as part of the Sunday Showcase season as well as an end of the season tourney typically the Friday and Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.  We will plan to schedule 3-4 more tournaments outside of Sunday Showcase, either on specific blocked weekends during the Little League Season and/or in June/early July after the LL season is completed.  Our goal is to, within the best of our ability, schedule our teams with local tournaments/games (within an hour) and at an appropriate level of competition.   The DBC season is projected to finish around the end of June/beginning of July with consideration given to the timing of Little League District tournament dates once known.

What are the fees for DBC and what is included?

Final fee determination will be made as the Board continues to look at different offseason options/partnerships for DBC with local organizations along with consideration for the number of players and tournaments planned.

Each player will receive:

  • 1 DBC uniform package (2 game jerseys, 1 pants, 1 hat, 1 DBC practice shirt, batting helmet)

  • 8-10 weeks of local indoor workouts leading up to the season January/February/early March (2-4 hours per week divided between 1-2 workouts)

  • Discounted spring Little League registration fees

Player Fees are estimated between $600-$700 + discounted Spring Little League fees.

When will tryouts be held and when will players/parents be notified?

Tryout dates will be announced via league email and social media and typically take place in mid to late July.  Tryouts are required.
