Parent Code of Conduct
I will not be a sideline coach or referee. I will limit my comments to being positive words to help reinforce encouragement to my child and her teammates. I will respect the coach and let them do their job.
I will help encourage fair play and sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every practice and game.
If my child develops a behavior-related problem that repeatedly disrupts practices/games, I will work with my child and my child’s coach to help resolve the issue. The coach has the right to withhold playing time for behavior.
I will not sit or stand on the child’s sideline/bench during the game, unless invited by the coach.
I will hold myself to a standard that I will not engage in drugs, tobacco, alcohol or bring firearms to any practice or games. These items (drugs, tobacco, alcohol and firearms) will not even be in my possession when I am on school premises or other school grounds.
I will do my best to make the basketball experience a fun, learning experience for my child.
I promise to treat other fans, coaches, players, officials with respect, regardless of race, sex, or ability.
I will remember as a fan, I represent the name on the front of the jersey and that community.
I understand that any concerns about the officiating and/or coaching during a game must be directed to the coach. Please institute the 24 hour rule in addressing your coach. Please understand that by taking matters into your own hands and addressing an official can result in expulsion from the team/organization.
I understand that unsportsmanlike conduct will not be accepted. We will not condone yelling at other parents, coaches or athletes. We will not accept cussing or name calling at other parents, coaches, officials or even other players.
I understand that if I (parent/guardian) or my child continue to have an detrimental attitude I will be asked to leave the program.
