SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PA. - On August 25, 2024, Lake Mary Little League became the first team from the state of Florida to win the Little League World Series (LLWS) Championship, defeating international champions Chinese Taipei with a score of 2-1 in an 8-inning thriller.
The 12U All-Stars from Lake Mary compiled a 20-1 record over their summer season, losing only to Boerne Little League from Texas during the LLWS. The team was able to avenge that 4-1 loss in the United States championship game on Saturday, August 24, during which they defeated the Southwest Region champions 10-7 in an exciting, high-scoring affair in historic Lamade Stadium.
