ROOKIES SOFTBALL

Rookies Softball is for girls League Age 5-7 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding.

The Rookies Division is appropriate for players at the beginner level. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching and should focus on fun, fitness, and fundamentals. The primary goals of Rookies Softball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of softball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork.  In Rookies Softball, players will have a certain amount of "coach pitch" opportunities to hit. If a player is unable to hit off of coach pitch, a tee will be used. No live (player) pitching is permitted in this division.

League Age is determined by the players age on January 1st. Ex - If a player turns 5 on December 31st, 2024, they will be league age 5 for all of 2025. If however, a player turns 5 on January 2nd, 2025, they will be league age 4 for all of 2025

MINORS SOFTBALL

Minor League  Softball "Player/Coach Hybrid" Division is for participants League Age 7-9 years old

In this division, players begin to pitch to batters until a player puts the ball in play or strikes out. In the event 4 balls are throw, a coach will relieve the pitcher and throw until the batter puts the ball in play or strikes out. Development in hitting and fielding continue as the players are prepared to advance to the Minor and Major League Softball Divisions.  Field dimensions include at 35ft mound and 60ft base paths. This division uses an 11in softball. 

Minor League  Softball  is for participants League Age 8-10 years old

This Division is designed for more experienced players. Minors SB will follow normal Little League Rules for game play. Development in hitting and fielding continue as the players are prepared to advance to the Major League Softball Division.  Field dimensions include at 35ft mound and 60ft base paths. This division uses an 11in softball. 

LMLL will conduct player assessments prior to the season to determine appropriate Minors Division for each player.

League Age is determined by the players age on January 1st. Ex - If a player turns 7 on December 31st, 2024, they will be league age 7 for all of 2025. If however, a player turns 7 on January 2nd, 2025, they will be league age 6 for all of 2025

MAJORS SOFTBALL

The Little League Softball® division (Majors Division) is for players ages 11-12.

This Division is geared for more experienced players. The Majors division field uses a 60-foot diamond and a 40 foot pitching distance, while using a 12in ball. Majors SB will follow all Little League Rules set forth by LL and LMLL.

The local league has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or “All Stars”) of 10-to-12-year-olds from within this division, and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Girls Little League Softball World Series, featuring teams from around the world. 

JUNIORS SOFTBALL

The Junior League Softball division is a program for players ages 12-14.

The Juniors Division uses a conventional 60-foot diamond with a 43 foot pitching distance. The local league has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or “All Stars”) of 12-14-year-olds from within this division (and/or from within the Girls Senior League Softball Division), and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Junior League Softball World Series, featuring teams from around the world. All expenses for the players and coaches of the teams advancing to the World Series (travel, meals, and housing) are paid by Little League International.
