MASON YOUTH BASKETBALL BOYS HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE GENERAL LEAGUE and GAME RULES 

Set forth below are the General League and Game Rules for the Mason Youth Basketball Boys  High School League (MYB or the “League”). MYB adheres to the rules of basketball as set forth from the OHSAA and the NFHS. Rules specific to the MYB are laid out in this rules  document. Coaches, by entering teams, agree to follow the rules, accept the penalties for  noncompliance, and enforce them within their community. The goal of the league is to provide  an opportunity for the players to develop the character skills learned from sports through  participating in a safe, fun, and conflict free game environment. The games are truly for the  children who play.

GENERAL LEAGUE RULES 

PLAYERS 

1. NO OHSAA TEAM MEMBERS (OHSAA ELIGIBILITY). This impacts both our league and the  school team’s eligibility.  

2. Players can play on only one MYB team. Any player who is found playing on more than one team will be ejected from the league. Sub players are not allowed.  

3. Players must play in at least 50% of regular season games to be eligible for the end-of-season tournament. Exceptions to this rule due to special circumstances such as injury  may be granted by the League. 

4. The League has the right to reject any player for any reason. 

5. Each and every player must have a signed Liability Waiver submitted to the League before  he or she is eligible to play in a MYB game. There are no exceptions to this rule. Players  who are caught playing without a Liability Waiver will be removed from the team and not be allowed to play for the remainder of the season and the Post Season Tournament.

TEAMS 

1. All teams will be formed and registered with the Mason Community Center as a team.  Once coaches have registered, they will be provided with a link for players to register  individually for their roster.  

2. All players must live within the City of Mason and/or the Mason City School District. 3. The League has the right to reject any team for any reason. 

4. The roster maximum is 11. Teams may also have one (1) student coach on the bench. 

5. No player may be added to the roster of a team for any reason after November 10th.  Exceptions to this rule may be made with approval of the League. 

6. No team may use guest or sub players or any player not listed on their roster. Any game  where a non-rostered player participates will be forfeit. Any team that violates this rule  more than once will not be eligible for the Post Season Tournament. 

SEASON SCHEDULE 

1. Teams will play a 9 or 10 game schedule, plus an End of Season Tournament. 2. The season will be 9 weeks to help accommodate HS spring sports.
