Ponytails Division

Our Ponytail division is for players league age 5 and 6. Players are introduced to the game of softball utilizing 11” Softie or Training balls and bat off of a tee. Fundamentals are stressed at this age level, teaching them to “throw like a girl”, catch as well as hitting. At some point during the season, coaches usually transition the players from using the tee to “coach pitching”. All players bat every inning, outs are not recorded, and score is not kept.

Farms Division

Our Farms division is for players league age 7 and 8. Building on the fundamentals taught in the Ponytail division, play is advanced by introducing a pitching machine utilizing 11” Dimple balls, the machine is electric powered and is approximately 35 feet from home plate and the balls are pitched at approximately 35 mph. Each batter gets five pitches in an attempt to either reach a base or record an out. Each player does not bat every inning as inning end with either three outs or five runs scored. Score is kept for these games, but standings are not recorded, and therefor playoffs are not held. Players in this division are eligible to try out for the 8u Travel Team.

Minors Division

Our Minor division is for players league age 9 and 10. Building on the fundamentals of the Ponytail and Farms divisions, play is advanced by introducing players to live or “player pitched” softball. The pitching rubber is located at 35 feet from the home plate. At this age level, players are introduced to walks, strike outs, and stealing of bases (as the pitch crosses the plate). Innings consist of either three outs or four runs scored, with the exception of the sixth inning. Score is kept for these games and standings are recorded; playoffs are held in this division. Players in this division are eligible to try out for the 10u Williamsport Travel Team.

Majors Division

Our Major division is for players league age 11 and 12. This age group the players are playing “real softball” with the introduction of the “Dropped Third Strike” and “Infield Fly” rules, also stealing at this level is “on release”. The pitching rubber is located at 40 feet from the home plate. Innings consist of either three outs or five runs scored, with the exception of the sixth inning. Score is kept for these games and standings are recorded; playoffs are held in this division. Players in this division are eligible to try out for the 11u or 12u Williamsport Travel Teams.

Junior Division

Our Junior division is for players league age 13 and 14. The pitching rubber is moved from at 40 feet to 43 feet from the home plate. Innings consist of three outs. Score is kept for these games and standings are recorded; playoffs are held in this division. Players in this division are eligible to try out for the 14u Travel Team.

Senior Division

Our Senior division is for players league age 15 through 18. The pitching rubber is located at 43 feet from the home plate. Innings consist of three outs. Score is kept for these games and standings are recorded; playoffs are held in this division. Players in this division are eligible to try out for the 18u Travel Team.
