Challenger
The Challenger League is a special part of the East Meadow Baseball/Softball Association. It is a league that provides a baseball environment to children with special needs. The Challenger program affords these children the opportunity to play ball and experience exciting, friendly and fun competition. This league is run entirely by volunteers and always welcomes community participation. Many East Meadow players from Baseball and Softball come down on games days to assist the Challenger players and join in the fun. We hold our monthly meeting on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 7:30 – 9:30 pm.

Challenger Buddy Signup Schedule:
The EMBSA Challenger league, run by Lee Cook and his board & coaches, play each Sunday morning on the complex (Gaglione, Cook, Greco, and South Fields). Some of the teams need buddies to help the Challenger athletes better understand baseball and perform on the field. Buddies will help show the athletes how to run the bases, field the ball and know where to throw amongst other things. You do not need your entire team to be there, anything from about 4 of 5+ players works. Lee will provide further instructions when you arrive. It is a great experience for everyone involved!
Here is a signup sheet. Each team should select a date to volunteer. It will make the program run smoothly. Just add your team name and coach's contact info to sign up. Your team will meet Lee at the Complex at 9:15am on the date selected.
