Weather Policy

PRACTICE DELAYS / CANCELLATIONS
All practice cancellations will be posted in the BAND app. We will monitor weather when severe storms are in the forecast. Our ability to hold practice can and will be affected during Florida's rainy season. Additional practices may be scheduled outside of normal practice days to make-up for cancelled practices.

LIGHTNING DELAYS
Parents, DO NOT drop off your athlete for practice and leave if severe weather is in the forecast.

If lightning is detected within 5 miles of the field, the lightning detector will sound and practice and/or games will be suspended. In these instances, athletes will stay with their team and seek shelter under the awning of the High School. Practices and games will resume 30 minutes after the last lightning strike is detected in our area. We will continue to monitor the weather and decide to either wait it out or call the practice/game. Updates will be posted in the BAND app.

Attendance

It is expected that athletes attend all practices, football games, competitions, fundraisers and team events. Coaches and league officials reserve the right to limit participation and/or revoke eligibility to participate due to excessive absences. Football and Cheerleading are team sports - absences will affect the entire team's performance.

We understand things happen. If your child is going to be late or absent, you must inform your child's coach in advance through the BAND app.

Communication

We use the BAND app for all main communication with our families. Once you have completed online registration, you will be sent a link to join our private BAND group via text message. It is mandatory to join as this is where all team/season information will be posted. Parents are responsible for staying informed regarding schedule updates, weather delays, and league announcements. Please make sure to check the app frequently for the most up to date information.
