General Info:
The cheer program coincides with the boys and girls basketball program. Cheer is a winter sport for SJW parish members in 2nd-8th grade. We are dedicated to providing a positive, fun, and safe environment for the girls while teaching them what it means to be a cheerleader. They will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading, a variety of cheers, dances, jumps, & stunts* all while learning important life values. Cheerleading will help a child with their confidence, leadership, preparation, dedication, and working together as a team. We look forward to seeing you all this winter sports season.

**** Last head coach ran practices on these days; subject to change in 2023-24 season ****
Practices are Fridays starting in mid to late November and continue through February.  They will be held after school starting at 3:30PM. In the beginning of the season we may hold practices on some Wednesdays to get the girls up and running.  Games are held on Saturday or Sundays throughout the season.

This year we will have 2nd through 8th grade.

The girls will all cheer at the same games but the Varsity/JV girls will perform the half-time routine.  The Biddy girls will perform sideline cheers and the "Hello" cheer.

All girls will be required to wear Chasse white cheer sneakers.  Head coach when identified will help determine brand/style.

The Biddy squad will wear the current SJW cheer uniform with a long sleeve white cheer top and a silver boy cut short underneath.  If your items from last year no longer fit, we can place an order for more white shirts and silver boy cut shorts.

*Please review the Allentown Diocese CYO Cheerleading Rules page for age guidelines on stunts.
