(NORFOLK, Va.) February 8, 2022 – On Friday February 4th, Virginia Beach City FC and Virginia Skyline FC announced the signing of new Regional Sports Director, Amy Greco. Greco will be overseeing the Norfolk, Chesapeake, Harrisonburg recreation programs, school programs, and park programs such as Development Academy, Development Academy Juniors, and Development Academy Plus.
“I feel like I have the ability to connect with people; from kids super young from two all the way through adults,” Greco said. “Me working with the rec side, the young side especially for the DA Juniors and Development Academy, I feel like it’s going to be really easy to get people to fall in love with what we are doing here.”
Greco is a native to Virginia having grown up in the Alexandria area playing soccer her whole childhood. From there she earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Utah. From there, Greco relocated to Virginia Beach where she furthered her education at Old Dominion University earning a master’s degree in Sports Management.
Greco intends to be very open and transparent with players, coaches, and parents. She will intently work to better our programs by taking questions and being open for critique.
“I have an open door policy, any questions, anytime. You can reach out to me; email is probably the best way and give me a call whenever,” she said. “I’m usually out and about on the fields so if you ever see me and have a question, feel free to come up, say hi and we can start chatting. I’m super excited to be starting here at Virginia Beach City FC; hopefully we have a long and bring future to come.”
